No, the season lasts for 6 months.

The season will last six months. The season has lasted only 3 1/2 months.

When you say a guy is batting 0.300 for the season, you're referring to the season that has happened so far, not a 6 month period.

Less selective? You mean like how time after time he's watched meatballs sail by his belt and then popped up the curve that was high and outside, or grounded that low and away pitch for a 4-6-3? That's what you want? Knock yourself out. That's not "selective" btw, that's POOR selection. It's not characteristic of Mo over his career, but it's notoriously characteristic of his last month and a half or more. It's painful to watch, but perhaps I can join the rotogeeks and ease my pain with the salve of OBP/BB numbers for a guy who hits #4 in the order and hasn't driven in 10 runs in 2 months.

Ensberg taking strike threes. Luckily, he won't have to Huff and puff as much any more on the way back to the dugout. :p

Ensberg, with his out of this world numbers against LHP (even recently), is benched for the absurdly horrid bat of Willy Taveras.

I don't even know what to say. I could accept it if it were Mike Lamb. But to sit him down in favor of Taveras... I'm dumbfounded. This is one of the silliest things I've ever seen, unless Ensberg comes out and says he's too hurt to play.

obvious now, with ensberg hitting the DL, but i also think the astros are going to try and showcase willy as much as possbile these next several weeks, so get ready for a steady dose.
