I don't mind getting Banks, but a big yawn for the other two.

Padgett is not even close to Novak, Padgett has better D, less FT% and better post skills than Novak...if we are gonna sign Padgett, then we'll just send Novak to be more consistent on a nightly basis...
I bet Banks won't sign here because at his age he would be looking for a team that would probably offer him full MLE and a starting job..even though he playts good defense...

Flip Murray is the most possible chance of getting imo, he can come off the bench to provide instant spark, and if T-mac gets injured again (hopefully not) then Murray can fill his role nicely (Note in Seattle when Ray Allen was out of the lineup, and Murray started, he averaged about 23 ppg)

Flip Murray is a carrer 27.2% 3-point shooter. Against Detriot in the semi CF, his FG% was 21.8% and shot 16.7% at 3-pont line. A SG cant shot, he should fit in our "system" real well. If we sign him for like 4 year 18M contract, then our off season is perfect.

padgett is exclusively a pf. wasn't it padge who got that quick steal and bucket which was the catalyst of tracy's comeback against the spurs (13pts under half a minute)?

We go into this offseason with the hopes of addressing our poor outside shooting and we considering Flip Murray? I'm not going to give up hope since it is only July but this really does suck.

I'll take any of these guys for the right price, getting 2 of the 3 for the MLE would be great IMO.

Banks- Would give us a solid backup at PG, possibly a future starter. We have zero depth in our backcourt and Banks could fill that.

Flip- Would love to add his offensive spark off the bench, but his shooting is a concern. Seems like we can get similar production from Head, Luther is a much better shooter as well.

Padgett- Might not be as needed w/ Novak on board, but we're lacking a ton of depth. I'm not sold on a Howard/Hayes rotation at PF and Padgett is money from 3-pt land.

Is House taken? I thought he is a FA. If he can be had for league minimum, it will be good.

It's a sad offseason when one of our best moves could be potentially signing Padgett (although I do like his game). What just upsets me is the front office's lack of talent evaluation and foresight. You drop Mike James and Scott Padgett and now you want to resign them. Make up your mind already.

Next thing you know we'll be resigning Cato and Moochie Norris.

I believe House is looking for a bigger contract. That's why he opted out to get a more lucrative deal. I would rather him than Flip as a spark off the bench. I really this Fred Jones is our answer as our starting sg.

I think there's a place for Padgett. He played 4 and 5 is special situations - usually the cardiac unit when the Rockets were down big. His 3 pt shooting can really spark the team. He gets exposed, however, when he has to play major minutes. Novak is no 4 at the NBA level - yet. But if he can add 15 lbs. then maybe. Banks - I'll take him just for his perimeter D. Change of pace from Rafer. Flip Murray - I'm not impressed. Can create his own offense but has to hog the ball to do it. We can do better.

Banks is a younger Mike James with a stronger body. I hope we get that guy and are able to do a S&T for about $3 mill of the $4.2 mill TE. IF we are going to get Flip Murray, I would hope we S&T Wesley to Cleveland for him for about $2 mill per. Wesley would fit there pretty well and we wouldn't have a lot invested in Flip. It would still leave us the entire MLE plus the $1.7 TE, plus whatever is left of the $4.2 TE to make deals with. There's got to be some trades out there. Luke Jackson is still available, Carlos Delfino. Delfino wouldn't be a bad bet for the lower trade exception. Macijauskas has been released.

Our #1 need is still shooting followed by perimeter defense but even less so now that we have added Battier. If we got Banks, he would solidify our perimeter defense even more, and he could turn out to be a find on the offensive end as well. Surely we wouldn't have a problem giving a 24-year-old a 4 or 5 year deal. And he would make Luther expendable. Maybe we could entice Washington to do a Jeffries Daniels deal for Howard Head???

I think there are still plenty of opportunities to get players. There are still plenty of team looking to make moves and move players out.

    I'd rather have:

    Rasual Butler

    Reggie Evans

    Eddie House

Yeah I know. I'm still crumpled over holding everything real delicately and resisting the urge to vomit. But you've got to play through the pain. I still believe in our boys.
