Drayton has always ponied up for the Astros payroll. During the off-season, Purpura said that the payroll would be around $90MM. With Bagwell and Clemens coming off this year, the Astros really should push for a player who can help long-term. I have to assume with the year Pettitte's having and his age, he'd re-sign for less. They would have room for a Dontrelle or Zito sized salary.
