We have Yao, Tmac, Alston, Battier, Head, Howard, Hayes and Novak promises to be very good shooting wise. This team is by no means a bad team at all. I agree we need to add one more guy to the backcourt who has speed and athletic ability but when we do this is a second round team at the very least. Oh and those guys fawning over V-span please stop because you are embarressing yourselfs. He is not ready to come over or HE WOULD BE HERE. Give CD and Jeff a break they will make us proud before the offseason ends I garentee you. Go Rockets!!!

and this team is by no means a good team either. do you really have that hard of a time finding eight teams that are better than the rockets right now in the western conference?

hate to blast the team right now, but wtf was the goal this offseason? i'm still and will always be a fan, but they sure do make it hard.

Any team has Ryan Bowen in their 10-man rotation is a good team.

Who say we cant compete for the championship with only 10 players?

It's true, this team is very good, but it could have been great.

I know CD will make more trades until all our players are untradable or have no value at all. He will get there when he is retired.

The face of this team is Juwan Howard with sunglasses.

Are we a good team? Yes.
Are we a championship caliber team? No.

Right now, only 2 out of the 8 you mentioned are worth mentioning. The other players? Get real. And I will take you up on your 'garentee'.

They are a playoff team, but by far from a WCF contender.

We are a team that can at the very least get to round 2. We have very good guys on this team and people who deny that just have no basketball sense at all. Those who call for the coming over of V-Span doublely show thier lack of Basketball IQ because he's not ready.

Any team with Tmac, Yao and perhaps Battier is a good team.
It just shows how low our expectations are- never thought that being a "good team" was what we wanted to be!!!!!!

Everyone I named has a role and will make an impact. Take me up on my garentee infact I urge you to because at the end of the season when this team has 50 plus wins you'll see I was right.

50 wins isnt something that hasnt been done before.

If all you are satisfied with is 50 wins, trade yao and tmac now because they deserve better.

We havent made the moves necessary to keep up with the top teams of the West

And that is the opposite of what we should be doing with a top 5 player in Tmac (when healthy) and a top 10 player in Yao

Face it guys, we are a mediocre team at best right now. We probably will end up fighting with Memphis for the 4th spot in our own Division. That leaves 3 teams in our division ahead of us, plus the other two division leaders. That means we are fighting for the 6-8 spots in the playoffs. And with the good play of the Clippers and Lakers last season, we have a lot to be worried about.

Let's take a look at the 01-02 champion lakers roster.

    Kobe>=T-mac(healthy)
    Shaq>>Yao(shaq was just that dominant)
    Shane Battier>Derek Fisher
    Rafer Alston>Devean George
Robert Horry>Steve Novak(we still don't know bout novak, could go either way, not as clutch though)

Samaki Walker, Jelani McCoy, Lindsey Hunter, Medvedenko, Mitch Richmond, Brian Shaw, and Mad Dog Madsen vs. Hayes, Howard Head, Deke, and Sura.
    Advantage: Rockets

The Lakers had NOTHING, no depth, no third scorer, no NOTHING. They had washed up veterans even worst than Wesley and Deke.

    Oh wait, but Phil Jackson>>>JVG

well, we still have a shot...

Being just a good team is not acceptable when you have superstars such as T-Mac and Yao on your roster. We should be competing for the championship every year that these players are in there prime, otherwise you're just wasting time.

Don't try to stop these veteran posters from crying. They have their right to whine and complain like the sky is falling. I mean, my god, they should be gm's for crying out loud! They know exactly what to do, when and where.

Yep, that's it. Call it a night. The Rockets are over. We are crippled old, Tmac was never any good anyway. Yao's going to stay in China because he heard the new Chapelle show was lame and Rafer's going to be the face of the Rockets for the next 20 years. Hell, he might be a player coach next year!

THe pessimistic nature some of you have is downright canceres. You guys who make these comments are losers and arent true Rockets fans. Tmac,Yao,Alston,Battier thats 4 of the best players in the NBA. Coaches and other players will atest to that fact. So get over yourselfs and cheer for this team or get the heck out of here.

They had 2 HEALTHY AND DOMINANT players. Tmac is far from 100% healthy and Yao is coming off foot surgery.

    Sura as a factor? Wow.
