Salary cap for 2006-07 season set at $53.135M

    So here's the breakdown.

    Salary Cap = $53.135 mill
    MLE = $5.215 mill
    Luxury Tax = $65.42 mill

    Also one last tidbit, they also tabulated Yao's max contract figure. His starting salary will be $12.45 mill. Five years with 10.5% raises puts it at about $75.3 mill guaranteed to the big fella.

    Thanks for the info. Right now, how far over the cap are the Rockets? Also, what season will the Rockets conceivably fall under the cap?

    I am sure it will be when Yao'a and McGrady's contracts are up because their salaries probabl only get bigger each year.

    yeah i think mcgradys gets very big soon. at the salary cap now it would take up about 1/3 of it.
