    In the alternate world,

What would Jeff Van Gundy do with the Rockets championship teams?

    How would he coach them?

How would he coach and how would his relationship with his players be?

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

    1. Sam Cassell - a rookie, would he get lots of play time in the playoffs?
    2. Robert Horry - how would he play Robert? does he allow him to jack up all those 3s?
    3. Maxwell - does Max and JVG bump heads? does Vernon get the 'Derek Anderson'?
    4. Dream ?
    5. Drexler ?

Would we have won 2 in a row under JVG? 3 in a row? ZERO?

Wasn't Robert Horry a rookie for our first championship too?

Rockets will be a lottery team: Dream would have a right foot injury, Max had a rib injury, Clyde broke his back and Robert Horry got traded to Memphis..er..Vancouver I mean.

the horry question is interesting. we traded horry for sean elliot but elliot failed his physical. would the jvg organization try to trade him to another team or in the off season?

what about playing horry at the 3 which Rudy did.

    SF Horry
    PF Otis
    C Dream

my opinion was that front court was awesome. strong rebounding in Dream/Otis . Strong inside, Otis 50% career FG, Dream/Horry -blocking shots
Outside shooting when needed, Dream from 15ft, Horry for 3

wow! im still amazed at that team

Once Sam went out there and showed he had a clue and balls, JVG would play him. If he ran around looking confused and neutered he would have been yanked right away- i'm thinking Kenny Smith would have gotten less run than he did because he was being outplayed by Harper.

JVG wants a 4 who can shoot the three, if Horry of 94'95 were available today, JVG would want him on his team. Which leads me to think that Horry would have gotten good minutes and freedom to knock down his open three's.

Maxwell, although nuttier than squirrel turds-personifies what JVG wants out of a player, no way he isn't on the court.

But i also think Matt Bullard would have seen more action, and difference maker Carl Herrera would be riding the pine, in his place....Earl Cureton. Love that veteran play.

    First round exits both years.

JVG sucks ass. He's wasting Yao & T-Mac's best years and he would have done the same with that Rockets team.

This is to easy: JVG would have traded the entire team for the 94 & 95 Knicks because they were mostly older, tough, defensive minded, and JVG type players.

And we'd still be waiting to win our 1st title, but on the bright side JVG would have been fired years ago. :D :D

We wouldn't even have Drexler. JVG would have kept Otis Thorpe.

Rudy really loved Otis, they were golfing buddies. But he felt they needed a change.

Maxwell came up clutch too many times to count, so i think JVG would play him. The Rockets changed philosophy to beat the Suns since they just concentrated on Dream, so Max took it upon himself to go 'mad' on them.

Old NBA rules fit JVG better, but can you imagine him jumping and screaming at the rookies? Horry and Cassel would never have been pivotal in a 94 JVG appearance.

how loyal would he be to his players?
Im happy that John Starks bricked all those shots in game 7, but you have to admire how Riley still had confidence in him.

Its kinda similar to how Rudy had faith in Kenny and Vernon. Even though Sam was way better than Kenny, he still played Kenny good minutes and Kenny showed up strong in game 7.

Notice how loyal the Rudy T players are. Some of them seem almost lost without him... (Steve Francis)

You know, you could have made your point by just posting the thread links in that thread instead of ruining the front page of the GARM with this petty nonsense.
