Whether or not they shut down everyone else wasn't in question. Learn to read. There's a reason why Yao Ming exploded and the rest of our shooters were abysmal. The plan was to give Yao and Tracy their's and shut down Mike James with Armstrong.

Apparently one of us does need to read better. The problem was they shut down Tmac in that game, who only shut 10/26.

Again, learn to read. We're not talking about the result. We're talking about the plan.

Did he end the interview by saying "I'm Mike James, b****!"?

I was ready to let James go before, and I wasn't hot to get him now. Let's face it--James and Battier still weren't enough. The best way for the Rockets to win a championship in the next 3 years would be to have kept Gay and started him right away. To me, that is how you "win now." Oh well. Hopefully, we won't have to suffer through this offseason much longer.

Yes, shutting down Mike James for his 17 minutes was the key to the Mavs blowing us out. The other players going 4-26 had nothing to do with it.

I am not on Dallas coaching staff like you are. So I can only look at the stats. Funny thing is you said the plan was to let Yao and Tmac had their points, but Tmac just choked all by himself I guess.

Y'all really really need to get the around the 11:00 mark of the first mp3. The prostitute reference is hysterical.

Oh yeah, and this dude is whiney... it was painful trying to get to that point...

I especially loved how he talked about how everybody wanted the player (fireworks) but nobody wanted to pay for it and he was tired of it. Within 10 seconds he was saying how money doesn't make him, how it wasn't a factor, and how he was a "man of God".

    What a two-faced moron.

You guys really have trouble with reading comprehension, don't you?

Let's go step by step here. This has nothing to do with the results. It doesn't matter what Yao or Tracy or anyone else did in that game. We're talking about what Mike James said Dallas' plan was going into the game. The fact that everyone else sucked is completely irrelevant to their game plan.

Didn't listen to the clips, but from reading all the replies, looks like Rockets made the right choice.

No matter how much skill and greatness he has, a Houston Rocket is not one to boast and b--ch like Mike James. We don't need that kind of person on the team.

For real. Talk about a two-faced hypocrite: he claims he has no hard feelings toward the Rockets for trading him, but demands a player option AND a trade kicker in retribution. He claims it wasn't about the money, but he takes a player option and says that the MLE is a "bad deal" for him and thinks he should get paid more. He claims he is a man of God ... I won't go there. He claims he has been humble all his life ... good Lord, where do we start?

Sometimes you get to a point and realize that a two-timing fellow like Mike James isn't worth having on your team, even if he's got the talent you need.

Sour grapes. It'll be another story if James signed with the Rockets...

Meanwhile, CD sits back and sips from his Starbucks with a smirk knowing that the self healing Rockets fans let him off the hook yet another time.

You guys have great ways to over comfort yourself. Ergh... the battered wife syndrome.

yeah this is the offseason we always dreamed of.. trade a potential #1 draft pick and an atheltic productive forward for a role player then miss out on the best available FA guard for the amount of money asked..

    F*** Mike James

He can take his 20 and 6 numbers and kill himself for that 8th spot he'll be trying to get in Minnesota.

He's gonna find out that he needed us way more than we'll end up needing him.

It must suck to root for a team that has a player that you hate.

I hope your not talking about Swift as the productive forward cuz taking a **** is even productive for him....

And second of all, CAN EVERYONE GET OFF THE GAY BANDWAGON!

They guy could or could not be a great player. After reading about him, its more like he will not be a great player. He fell to number 8 after all.

Not really trying to step in...but, results don't matter?? Since when? Everything is about results. Had the plan actually been to shut down Mike James with Daryl Armstrong (which, frankly, Mike himself certainly shouldn't be bragging about), and it worked, but the Rockets won the game and series anyway, well, you wouldn't be having this argument, because no one would remember...

    Great links

    Thanks countingcrow

I really thought that James was a done deal for the Rockets. I thought that all the rest was just a smokescreen in order to drive up the price, which of course ended up being true.

I thought however that the Rockets wouldn't let him get away.

I doubt you'd be saying that if Roy had fallen to us.
