Better still, should the Rockets acquire Kobe Bryant from the Lakers via a S&T with our TE?

Are you kidding?? Bonzi apparentley turned down a 6 year 36 million dollar contract and Harrington is worth way more than the MLE.

Well, thing is they need to try something.

At least try. They dont even try nowadays. Its better than sitting there looking like idiots because they screwed up in a huge pattern seen by everyone but themselves

While we're at it, we should trade Juwan/Head/TE for KG straight up. ;)

Nope, but Juwan and the #8 for Miles and the 31 and 32 would've been nice at this point

Clutch, you need to have a test for new people that are preposterous-trade-suggesters. There has to be a way to clean up this place. Holy crap. I have been trying to ignore it for a few months, but damn.

Why "try" for players who are worth way more than what we can offer? Atleast go after the names we are capable of getting, such as Murray, Banks, Cato, etc. No point in making us even more of a laughingstock than we already are.

What are you talking about? Miles is negative value. Portland was trying to force him on teams that wanted to deal with them.

He's bad and has a Huge contract

I'm out here in the west coast and here's an article regarding Al Harrington - no mention of The Rockets.

    http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2006/07/11/SPGL2JT39M1.DTL&type=printable

(07-11) 04:00 PDT Las Vegas -- Turns out the Warriors' courtship of Al Harrington is remarkably extensive.

On July 1, the first day of free agency, Golden State contacted the Hawks' forward to let him know of their interest. Harrington has since talked regularly with vice president Chris Mullin, spent the last 10 days working out with Baron Davis, and fielded recruiting pitches from both Davis and Jason Richardson.

That's all according to Harrington, who dropped in on summer league Monday night after watching Davis and Paul Pierce's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" charity game in Los Angeles the day before.

Harrington called it an even split between Golden State and Indiana for his services -- assuming that a sign-and-trade deal can be worked out with the Hawks.

"I figured that a lot of people would have interest, and they're taking a very strong look at it," Harrington said about the Warriors. "So we'll see what happens."

What happens could well depend on how Atlanta's ownership feud shakes out in the coming days. A court ruling last week prohibited the Hawks from initiating deals that involve multiple years for players other than draft picks.

Harrington could be precluded from signing a lengthy contract with the Hawks, even if they intend to trade him. Atlanta could also be forced to take back only one-year deals if a sign-and-trade is allowed.

Part of Harrington's visit Monday was therefore spent talking to Billy Hunter, the director of the NBA players' union. Hunter said he was still waiting for the league's position on the ruling, but does not expect it to stand because it interferes with interstate commerce.

According to Hunter, the decision not only puts the Hawks at a competitive disadvantage -- Atlanta loses Harrington for nothing if he simply signs elsewhere -- but it also puts Harrington in a financial bind.

Most teams are over the salary cap and can only offer him the mid-level exception of about $5.1 million. Harrington made $7 million last season.

"Somebody's going to hear from the union if they don't hear from the league first," Hunter said. "Time is of the essence because, generally speaking, most players will sign between July 15 and the first week of August."

In Harrington's case, one possible loophole resides in the language of the court order. If it is determined that the Hawks initiated negotiations for a sign-and-trade prior to the ruling, Hunter said the deal could be valid.

The Warriors would love to inject Harrington, who plays both forward positions, into their starting lineup. He said he preferred to play small forward so he could "bully all the other 3s," but mostly looked forward to finding a new home soon.

Enter Davis and Richardson, who both played in Sunday night's charity game. Harrington was asked if he's spoken to Davis about being Golden State teammates.

    "All the time," Harrington said.

Well, they dont do anything else but screw up waiting on middle talent to give them an answer weeks after they ask.

Im not sure what Cato has in the tank. Banks, not high on him, Murray, good scorer, no D.

I like the other siggestions of Ariza Jeffries and flip, but thats the point of the post. It was a question not a trade scenario or anything.

Our GM told another GM what he wanted to do exactly in the draft and then got grand slammed in the behind. He cant be laughed at anymore, unless he trades Tmac to the Lakers
