if we start to pick it up a little maybe we should consider alou. even tho he's 40 he has always been a good .300 hitter and can knock in runs.

not sure what his contract is like tho. we can trade the useless lane or wilson or maybe both. how bout scott or jimerson?

imagine if we got crawford AND alou to help us make the playoff push. not bad at all.

    thoughts?

no chance, why would he leave? he's prolly going to end his career in san francisco beacuse he's with his father. Who wouldn't want that? playing with your father, I doubt theres a chance he'll come back.

I've always been of a fan of Moises. The one thing he would bring to the Astros is clutch hitting, something sorely lacking in the current lineup minus Berkman. But no way he would leave San Fran so really this thread is useless.

While I do think he is a great hitter, he has only played 38 games this year.

Just say no to Alou. He's just not cool, and he pees on himself.

he'd leave because he'd have a chance of making it to the world series. plus i believe he enjoyed his stint here in houston.

He's a great hitter when healthy...keyword being "healthy" he has been on the DL about 3 times this season with back problems and that's not good....i wouldn't take a risk on him right now..unless it was very very cheap. Even then i would be a bit weary.

Remember when we had him? I was always worried he would hurt himself walking to 1st base.

Putting aside the family factors, why would San Francisco do it from a baseball perspective? They're ahead of us currently, why would they sell one of their better hitters?

Some of you are going to be very, very disappointed if we make a trade. Other teams don't want our dime-a-dozen players (Wilson, Lane, Scott) any more than we do. Teams don't want three average guys for one very good one. They want a very good prospect. To get most of the guys talked about here (Crawford, Lee, Willis, etc.) it's going to have to start with Hirsh or Patton and likely a plus hitter as well. Also, while we're still in the race because of the mediocrity of the NL, that's going to make it all that much more difficult to make teams become sellers.

i agree. the giants are only 1 game over .500 and im hoping they just flat out sink and if alou seems to be healthy during this time maybe the giants would want to dump this 40 year old for some younger outfielders.

having lane and wilson in our OF and morgan at the corner is just tearing me up inside. they're not hitting crap. its pathetic really.
