    Okay, so now what?

With MJ going to Minnesota for 5 years, who should the Rockets focus their MLE and trade exceptions on? In my opinion, we can still get some quality players with plan B. Who might some reasonable acquistions be, and what is our largest area of need?

Plan B is to give respect to both your superstars by trading them to teams with owners and management committed to winning.

Rox should go for Jared Jeffries on a sign and trade with the trade exception.

What do you all think of Billups? Even though it is not likely that he would leave detriot, I think he is the best case scenario for a PG on the Rockets. He will be opting out of his contract, I think he is the perfect fit for this team.

At this situation, maybe it's better to bring VSpan in

ah.. we're still in search for a pg im guessing.. so I think we should either get banks, house, or jay williams. I dont really know much about banks, but house will bring scoring off the bench, and williams will come for cheap.

Good plan, but it's still JVG team & he seem to be annoyed with playing rookies or euros! ;)

    No MJ? DJ yes!

I would rather have Cavs 'give' me Damon than sign Banks. I'd even prefer Jones and Gooden, the young, talented, active but flawed (mentally and gamed) DG as 'thanks' for the taking of DJ.

Banks is not ready for prime time. Jones is (almost) James (Mike, not King).

    Repeat: NO to Marcus.

    OMG Damon(without the D) Jones?

This guy is useless. We can get Novak to drain threes and he's better.

Damon Jones is completely worthless crap with no upside. You think that brings us closer to a championship?

Damon Jones is decent but he still has 3 years left on his deal. He isn't worth it. Better and cheaper options out there.

I would hate to have D.Jones on the team. He's nothing but a small, overrated shooter. He can't run a team. He's like an older Daniel Gibson, but Gibson still has time to get better. Say no to Damon Jones.

Damon Jones = Rafer Alston with a slightly better shot and poorer court vision

If anyone from the Rockets' team brass is reading this --

DO NOT SIGN MARCUS BANKS FOR ANYTHING CLOSE TO THE FULL MLE. HE IS A TERRIBLE BASKETBALL PLAYER WHO THINKS HE'S THREE TIMES AS GOOD AS HE IS.

When he's on the court, team offense degenerates into his offense, which is poor. For all of his speed he's a terrible finisher, and his shot isn't great -- so he won't address the Rockets' perimeter shooting woes. He is foul-prone thanks to bone-headed defensive plays, which is bad for a team with as little backcourt depth as the Rockets. He has not improved his decision-making a lick since UNLV, as he has proven to be uncoachable.

Further, given Mitch Kupchack's inexplicable fascination with the guy, signing him would mean overpaying.

In short -- stick with Alston, and look for an "energy-guy" to pair him with elsewhere.

Is this even in the realm of possibilities?

I would like to see if we could swing a S&T for Bonzi.

If not, I'd like Fred Jones and Trevor Ariza to split the MLE.

Now Ariza is worth the full MLE if you ask me. Is he a free-agent?
