Had to post this top 10 list. A walk down memory lane in some instances, in others just cool to check out. http://gaze.com.au/html/s02_article/article_view.asp?id=2452&nav_cat_id=-1&nav_top_id=-1&dsa=122 Enjoy
I like to think that the Lebron comercial is true , could be...one year a long time ago i went to the Glen Rice camp in Miami and he hit like 8 Half court shots in a row!!!! i thought that was amazing!
you can tell by the last shot it's fake. the ball's angle and timing of trajectory doesn't even look real. he shoots, it arcs, then gets off screen, then it literally hangs longer than it should.
Missing two of my favorites. The first is the Addidas one with Duncan, KG, and T-Mac where it shows God creating them and then setting them down in the arena with a basketball. Then the old Nike one with various NBA players and some streetballers dribbling to the beat.
The old Larry Bird vs. Magic McDonald's commercials when they were playing a game of H-O-R-S-E were classics--- "Off the scoreboard, off the shotclock, nothin' but net" or something like that.
I can't open the link at work but the best product commercials imo are the spike lee and mj, mars blackmon. "I'm here with my main man michael jordan". that was so progressive also, based on a character spike played in his first feature film, "she's got to have it" then the nba commercial that's my favorite is there was a commercial, that would show clips of magic and bird, and the music was "one on one" by hall and oates. absolutely classic.
Yeah, I definitely love the last Robinsion video. As bad as he looked there - really, really, really bad - he STILL looked even worse against Dream in the '95 WCF.
The "What is Love" Jordan commercial was sick: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQpL8K2YADk&search=jordan commercials I think MJ deserves his own top 10.
One of my favorites was when Jordan retired the 2nd time. There was a "Be Like Mike" commercial where all different kids from different walks of life are singing. At then end of the commercial the camera pans to Bird sitting behind a desk and he deadpans, "I'm not gonna sing."
I like the Jordan XXI commercial because in the one reenactment the kid who was playing Jordan did not push off on the kid playing Russell.
I like this Tmac commercial better. "I'll be taking them to school, everynight." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBXztE_FC88
On a local tip... where are the Rudy ball commercials? Remember the one where the guy is listening to the radio while standing on the ledge of his building? The announcer (Gene Peterson) is doing the call, the Rockets need a basket to win it, time running out [meanwhile the guy has tied the rope to his ankle and to an anvil or something heavy on the other end, and is holding it, waiting to force his own jump to the death if they lose], the Rocket drives it in, and misses, "Noooooo" Gene exclaims, the guy on the ledge drops the anvil, the rope is swiftly unraveling, reaching it's end... then Gene-o scream, "But Wait!! He was fouled!!!!!!!" - They cut to the guy on the ledge and he's like then they cut to the logo... There's another where they show the Rockets hoisting up the trophy in '93-94, and then they show a large freezer door being slammed shut, and it has "Hell" written over the top as the camera pans back... cuts to a "Thanks Houston" screen or similar... Those are my top two. #3 would be Dream dunking the chicken nugget, "Unbeatable."
