The originating article is behind the WashTimes subscription wall, but if the excerpts are accurate, Clinton's got more 'splainin' to do, and Hill's got a problem.

Anthony D. Rodham, one of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's two brothers, got the loans from United Shows of America Inc. after its owners obtained the presidential pardon in March 2000 over the objections of the Justice Department.

Michael E. Collins, trustee for United Shows, filed papers in Alexandria bankruptcy court seeking the return of $107,000 plus $46,034 in interest from Mr. Rodham, 51, for the loans he received from the carnival company, which went bankrupt in 2002.

Mr. Rodham "received the benefit of the loans without making any repayment," reads a related document filed last year in bankruptcy court in Nashville, Tenn. ...

According to bankruptcy court records, Tony Rodham began to receive the loan checks on May 10, 2000. The final loan of $2,500 was made on Feb. 12, 2002, about six months before United Shows filed for bankruptcy protection.

So because we are messing up in Iraq we should ignore gross misuses of power by anyone else ? If this is true it is extremely relevant for the 2008 election.

she didn't misuse any power, she was the first lady. I understand the power was misused to help her brother, but still. she was the first lady.

She was a well connected, politically influential first lady. If her husband and brother swindled some free cash it is relevant. If her brother (without her knowledge) use some leverage based upon who he was to swindle some cash then it shouldn't affect her --- but it does deserve some looking into.

I'm all for any scandal that keeps supporters of this stupid war out of the race and out of the White House. Bring Hillary down and receive the eternal gratitude of progressives and otherwise sane and patriotic people everywhere. In fact, here's a little tia.

Yes, please knock her out of the running for the nomination now. It will save us a lot of grief later.

My bet is that voters looking for the quick fix will vote Hillary like they did the Green party in the last 2 elections....

Yeah this really compares to the hundreds of millions that GW's brother swindled during the S&L debacle.

The weakest form of defense is "but you did this....."

Whether or not GW's brother swindled during the S&L debacle is irrelevant to this.

The weakest form of defense is "but you did this six years ago" while you ignore what is happening now.

You can't change the past. History is history, but you might be able to change what is happening now.

the other thing I don't get, maybe i misunderstand, is what does his filing bankruptcy have to do with anything. obviously the creditor wants its money back and has forced this guy into bankruptcy, happens all the time. its that scandalous.

oh I forgot this is a blog.
