Most of the time, the better team wins. So if China ever beats the US, that means at least for that game China is the better team, so I will definitely be happy for Yao and the China team.

Besides, I am Chinese. So it is an easy choice for me. :D

Impossible is nothing. If chinese player Wang(former nba player) can finish his job(3 points)Yao will be dominiate paint.Of course Dream team is powerful but they lack team work spirt and not adapt to Fiba's rules. One game decided winner anything will happen.

Yep, nothing is impossible. Yao's China may be lucky to sneak a win out of Team USA (I don't think it is a Dream Team) due to lack of chemistry on Team USA or any other reasons. However, I'm absolutely sure it would not be a trashing. According to what you had posted, there is also a big IF on Team China. But you can still treat it as a possibility. ;)

Why not wish for Yao to have a monster of a game and USA to pull away with a victory? That will be a win win situation!

I hope people against the trade will see now that Battier is a very important role player and that is why he is on the USA team. They already have the stars but now they need Bruce Bowen, and Shane Battier to be a "great team".

Honestly, I don't care that much about USA basketball.

I'd be quite happy for Yao to have a monster game AND lead the Chinese team to a victory over the US. I like rooting for the underdogs.

i am sorry to say, but who gives a damn about international ball. If this were soccer, i totally would be behind Team USA, its not, so i don't give a poop. Really, who actually gives a poop about international ball. We should poll that.

No way China can beat the US team but I think China can do some damage. This WangZZ could be different from the WangZZ we know. WangZZ has lots of experiences playing internation games and we are playing internation rules. He is/was a soldier playing for his country. He is hungry to prove himself.

Yao playing with Wang Zhizhi is one of the main thing that I'll be watching the World Championships for. This is the first time in a long time that Yao will be playing with an offensively capable power forward who can shoot the 3-ball consistently and make people pay for doubling on Yao. I have a feeling that Wang Zhizhi will have an outstanding World Championship because of all the attention that Yao will attract. Another reason to watch Wang Zhizhi is that his game in many aspects are similar to Steve Novak's. How he plays with Yao will be an indication of how well Novak will do with the Rockets.

If the US triple-teamed Yao every trip down and have one guy, like Lamar Odom, tucked Wang under his shirt every single minute, the Chinese team won't even score 50 points, let alone an upset.

That said, I will be extremely impressed if China can pull off this feat with Yao.

And People's Daily should be ashamed of themselves for relaying a Reuters news that contained faulty information without verification. Yao Ming and the national team have always been training at the National Sports Bureau in Beijing, and there is no such thing as a training camp in Guangzhou.
