A message to the BBSers, We have been suffering and grinding our teeth at the decision-making from our "front-office" We've shrugged our collective shoulders at the deals this summer. It seems that it has been several blows to the gut that almost seem plans for implosion. Two straight years of tearing down things that we are tryig to support and build. Last off-season we approved the deals only to see them be traded and undervalued to other teams...Heck, one of them went and got a Championship Ring (DA). Guess he did come to the right team after Portland. He couldn't play for the coach that we employ! We traded the gut that we needed in this Confrence with the likes of Pau (new/old teammate), Amare, KG, Elton B and Duncan. We traded a guy named MJ for a loser and now forced to spend a bundle on a guy that WE ALREADY HAD & COULD HAVE EXTENDED HIS CURRENT CONTRACT (less money) ! _______________________________ GM TIME: 1. Why did I sign ChucK Hayes? Will he be able to hang with the quickness of a Josh Howard or a Boris Diaw? No, but he's good before the stiffness of my coach's offense prohibited all the good parts of his game. 2. Why don't I have any real depth? It's because I love to trade it all away for players that are of a lesser grade. 3. Why did I do the oppostie this summer of the obvious of getting more athletic and younger? Honestly, because I'm scared that the inexperience will not get me far. Truth be told,I love old fogeys! 4. Is Bob Sura ever gonna play again? UUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMM, next question? 5. What happens this season if T-Mac is down for extended time? Hopefully the coach will tweek the offense according to the players and not pretend that he has Tracy on the bench. We need more cutting and slashing! 6. Are we player 4 on 5 since we dont have a power forward? What are you talking about we have JHo,Novak, Chuch Hayes......and....were....were gonna be comp....comp...competative right!?!?!?! 7. Are we gonna sign D Wesley and Boagans? Well, possibly Boagans to a 2-yr deal but if Wesley is sined it will probably be for a veteran minimum if no other agents are affordable, but certainly the basketball world has more to offer than him. 8. Isn't it time to invest in a 3rd string Center? Yes, when we are desperate that will be considered. 9. Are you aware that a large majority of the fans would like you to botch the GayStroBat Deal? I'm sorry did you say Gaystrobat, well i believe that this gives us experience at the cost of two very fine players. But we have what we want & believe we can win now (Real GM talk for ya). ________________________________________________________________ CLEARLY WE HAVE WHOLES!!!! I DONT SEE ENOUGH ACTIVITY!!! WE HAVE TO CHIME IN.....
Plz tell me your kidding that would be our GM! This a dumb thread! All we should have rite now is MJ threads
I don't like your tone, thread-starter. And, I would have to say you're wrong on most every point. Screw that stuff.
Do you have anything remotely substantiative to say at all? Are you just going to gripe and rehash arguments while butchering your spelling and grammar? Step back, have an original thought, then come back and talk to everyone.
i like France; Zidane is an amazing player. but Italy will probably win today, which i don't really mind. they are deserving as well although they've had a much easier draw throughout the tourney.
http://www.pittsburghxplosion.com/xplosion/players/gilliam.htm My boy "The Hammer" actually still is playing organized basketball despite his age at 42-years-old. I can tell you personally the guy can still play since he was kind of enough to play myself and two of my friends in a pickup game of 2-on-2. I was the lucky one at that had to "guard" him at 6'2". The sad thing is, he would probably crack our rotation since our depth is such a joke.
I'll play GM and fix 3 things: Me: Hey Jeff! Jeff: Whats up! Me: Do you still love your brother? Jeff: Of course! ME: Good because you're about to join him, Get your sh*t and get out! *hollering down the hallway* A ward & ewing, guess what....
Much easier draw? They had to get through the toughest of all the groups just to qualify for the second round. True, their second round and quarterfinal matchups were easy, but who would you rather face in the semifinals, Portugal, or Germany playing in front of a home crowd? And through all of the that, NOBODY has scored against the Italian defense this World Cup.
Well, if you'd like to turn this thread into a "You're the GM, what would you do?" thread, instead of a pissin' & moanin' thread, then here's what I'd do from this point forward. 1) I'd give MJ until the 12th to give me his decision. It's time the Rockets took back control of this negotiation. 2) If MJ doesn't accept our offer by the 12th, I call New Jersey up & inquire about McInnis's availability. Since they have Kidd, Vaghn, & the new kid Marcus Williams, McInnis should be available. I then insure that he's fully recovered from his injury &, if he is, I offer the TE for him. NJ is at the top of the salary cap & should be willing to accept our offer. McInnis fills our need for a veteran PG that can distribute & shoots very well. He's 31 years old, but he'll be going into the last year of his current contract. Problem solved for this year. 3) On the 12th, I complete the Battier trade. Personally, I like the trade. We've got 2 Superstars on this team already. We need to start putting the support pieces around them now. Battier has been a player that I've liked for some time & he brings the kind of role player attributes that this team has needed for a long time. However, I will admit to being disappointed that the previous GM didn't at least get the 24th pick included in the deal. That would've allowed us to address the PF position, or add some depth to another position with players like James Augustine (PF), Leon Powe (PF), P.J. Tucker (SG/SF), Bobby Jones (SF), & Daniel Gibson (PG) still on the board. 4) Once the MJ issue has been resolved, I'd offer the full MLE to Jared Jeffries. The Wizards are at $56+ million in signed contracts right now. Would they match the offer? I guess we'd find out. That'd take care of our starting PF. 5) Finally, I'd resign Bogans & Frahm for the minimum. I'm torn between signing Bogans, or attempting to trade the $1.7 mill TE & a 2nd round pick to Denver for a S&T of Buckner. Thus, our roster for this next year would look something like this: C: Yao/Mutombo PF: Jeffries/Howard/Hayes/Novak(IL?) SF: T-Mac/Battier/Novak/Bowen(IL?) SG: Battier/Head/Bogans/Sura(IL?)/Frahm(IL) PG: Alston/McInnis/Sura(IL?) Frahm would go on the IL & depending upon whether or not Sura is ready to play, either Sura & one of Novak/Bowen, or both Novak & Bowen would go on the IL. Of course, if MJ accepts our offer, then that changes everything.
If i were the GM I would wish for... 1) Trade the 4.2 TE and a future 2nd rounder for Mike James 2) Use the 1.2 TE on J.R Smith 3) Trade Juwan Howard and Luthur Head for Troy Murphy 4) Use the MLE on Darius Songalia and Rasual Butler 5) Re-sign Keith Bogans 6) Sign John Lucas Jr. Lineup PG-James- Alston- Lucas Jr. SG-Battier-Smith-Bogans SF-T-MAC-Butler-Novak PF-Murphy-Songaila-Hayes C- Yao- Mutumbo I can dream right!
JR Smith is currently employed in Chicago I believe and seeing as how they just traded for him and PJ Brown, im pretty sure they won't be willing to dump him that easily considering they gave up Chandler for him.
