Thanks shroopy. I dont see why these folks cant get it that you dont just compare one year, which is injury riddled for one player, and healthy for the other.

Anyhow, If you've watched enough lakers games as I have since i live in LA, i know guy slike Gordan Giricek and plenty of other scrubs, guys like larry hughes, arenas, all burned kobe to a crisp. Paul Pierce comes out here and totally embarrasses Kobe.

That kid is nothing what you think post shaq. Matter of fact, without shaq he hasnt done anything Mac hasnt done, or any other star guard besides shoot alot.

Do you guys really believes that Lebron is more untochable then Yao? First off, both player are equal in terms of scoring and creating shots for themselves. Sure Lebron gets the extra 7-8pts, but Yao gets that extra rebounds, blocks and draws double/triple team every freakin night which all are crucial elements in a hostile defensive playoff games. There's a reason why players double/triple team Yao, b/c he's unstoppable otherwise. Yao defense(see Amare) is also better then Lebron(let Arenas avg.30pts on him) at this point but that could be even out as Lebron develope. The biggest advantage Lebron has over Yao is his high asssist number since he is all over the court. Efficiency wise(82games), they're about the same. Of course, I'm speaking in terms of their talent at their position and their overall impact in the game. I'm not gonna sit here and say who has the higher ceiling or who's more prone to injury or whatever, b/c we simply don't know and nothing in the future is garanteed. So in conclusion, either player could be number one on the list.

No ****... if tracy is healthy he is pretty much the greatest wing player in the league. BUT thats the thing hes not. He has a chronic back problem ever since his days from orlando.Doc Rivers(the coach of Orlando back then) saw that mcgradies back is crooked or bent when mcgrady took his shirt off. Plus how can u contribute when ur off the court.

btw about yao. Of course he's not as good as lebron but his character and personality certainly is the best.

i just saw this somewhere and look at this foo
"I came to Miami because of this young fella (Wade) right here," O'Neal said. "I thought he was a special player. I knew the first time I saw him, I knew he was something special, so I knew it was my job to come here and make him better."
    this was after the final
    what BS...
yea ok.. "I made him better = I'm also responsible for this championship! ME! MEEE!"
    =_=. Shaq is so stupid.

I agree with you, and Shaq chose Wade over LBJ. There was player of TMac caliber switching team after LBJ entered the league. :)

Shaq didn't choose Wade. He wasn't a free agent. The Lakers chose Miami. Miami had the assets that the Lakers wanted.

Technically you are right, but seriously do you really think that Shaq didn't have a say in that trade?

I thought at first... my gut is to pick Lebron...

but then I thought... for those of us that think this is just a sport...
and who is more valuable, as a player...

bottom line this is a business...and its really not about who can but the most balls in the baskets... but who can bring the most people into the seats...
or get the bigger tv revenues...

thats what "trade value" means to me... sure every owner wants to win a championship...

but that just hopefully means more dollars...

I figure most owners if had a choice...

who's team never makes it out of the 1st round... but still will gross more than the team who wins the title...

will take the team who will gross more... than the team who wins the titles..

    bottom line its about... MONEY...

Yao has better market value to me...

I cannot wait until next year when we have a healty Yao/T-Mac, with much better supporting cast, and Yao win MVP and Finals MVP!

Next year Bill Simmons top 4 will look like this:

    1. Yao
    2. T-Mac
    3. LeBron
    4. Wade

Pistons in the late 80's, and the Pistons two years ago. We all know that defense wins the game, and the great inside players automatically make you a good defensive team. You can win without dominating inside player, as long as you have a dominating defense. MJ scored more points before his title run, but the Bulls only started to win when they started playing as a defensive machine. The Pistons had the "bad boy" defense.

I'd put James as at the #1, Yao at the #2. Wade is not reliable/consistent enough to rank higher. Duncan is definitely started declining as we are speaking.

Is this why neither of them has a championship and we couldnt beat the Mavs in game 7 two years ago, when Yao did nothing for 6 games and T-mac carried the team?

Im not sure why people are so ready to choose T-mac or Yao-- they both play for the Rox, and for us to have any chance next year, they both need to be healthy and on the same page.

and this is why his rankings are full of ****. I like bill simmons but reading him over the last four years, he doesn't like isiah, and he doesn't like francis. so you can take that for what its worth but the fact that three knicks make the top ten of his list is questionable. at least in the cases of francis, marbury, and webber, those guys are capable of putting up individual numbers to justify their contracts. steve just averaged 21-5-7 two seasons ago, does he really belong with the likes of dampier, and martin, and zach randolph.

once again bill simmons is great historical writer, but providing his personal he is questionable leading me to be shocked that this thread is so long.

Please never argue that LeBron is better than Yao because he won a playoff series against the lowly, we don't even play defense Wizards, unless you think the Cavs would have beaten the Lakers team that went to the Finals or last years Mavericks.

    Me thinks not....

Right, we could sweep the Wizards with a healthy Yao and Tmac.

I love yao, but if you don't think lebron is a better value at this point you're delusional. his team took the pistons to game 7, he has won a playoff series, he's younger, he's injury free, he puts up some of the best numbers only matched by oscar and jordan.

    there is no argument.
