I wonder if trading for Jackson would be much better then trading for Darius Miles.

Heh. Funny thing is, judging by what I read on Pacer boards, their fans are absolutely sick of Stephen Jackson and can't wait to get rid of him. Kind of like the way most of us hate Juwan.

An idea I suggested in another thread was having a three way deal involving Houston, Atlanta and Indiana.

Atlanta signs and trades Al Harrington to Indiana
Houston trades Juwan Howard to Atlanta
Indiana trades Steven Jackson to Houston

Indiana wants Harrington back bad and is basically going through the Rockets/Mike James, "Oh crap, we really do need this guy afterall" phase.

Atlanta is the wild card in this deal since Houston and Indiana would both accept this trade. Am I dreaming to think that Howard has any trade value? You would think Atlanta could use a player like Howard at PF since they are relatively weak at the 4/5 with Shelden Williams, a rookie, the starter by default. Howard is at least a proven scorer that could help them out immediately while all these younger guys develop and get their feet wet.

Houston does this trade for obvious reasons.

You know thats what i thought when first reading this but i actually think that they might do this! Yes Juwon is old but he has probably just about as much value as jackson i like this deal and i actually think if we added a pick maybe the pacers might too!

I think you might have missed something that happen about a year and a half ago in Detroit.

And your point being do you call billups, J'O, or reggie miller cancers? No!!! He IS NOT a cancer his only concern is that he wants to be a bit too much involved in the Offense!

    Is Stephen Jackson an option?

The Pacers, who are likely to re-sign Fred Jones, are reportedly close to closing in on a deal acquiring Bonzi Wells. That would give them Bonzi Wells, Stephen Jackson, Shawne Williams, James White, Danny Granger, Marquis Daniels, and Fred Jones at the wing. That sounds a little like overkill to me.

I'm more than certain that Larry Bird plans to deal away some of these guys, and the Rockets still could use an athletic wing. The only problem is that all of these guys are young except Jackson and Jones (who I will elaborate on in a bit). And since the Rockets are so intent on getting guys who are already at their peek in order to win NOW, I don't know how likely it is that we target one of these other guys.

    That leaves us with:

The sign-and-trade possibility of getting Fred Jones, but he is only 6'2".

    Or

Trading for Stephen Jackson, an athletic 2-guard who can fill it up from the outside and would take a lot of the scoring load off of the backs of Yao and Bad-Back Mac. And don't forget, Stephen Jackson is from Houston. Born, raised, and sold coke here.

He might be looking for a change of scenery as well. I like that idea. It would be a great addition to the team. I would rather have him than James.

Good call on the Pacers glut of swingmen. They would be a good team to see if we could make a trade with.

Stephen Jackson's contract matches up well with Juwan Howard. Just a though.

And Fred Jones is 6'4". He is listed at 6'2" but is taller than that. And he is also 218lbs so he is strong like Wesley. Rockets might be able to obtain Fred Jones with their TE+2nd round pick so the Pacers can offload his salary. I would be interested in Jones if I was the Rockets.

But, more than likely the Pacers would try to trade us Stephen Jackson first so they could get out of his contract. Not that Howard's is much better, but it has 1 less year on it.

My thoughts exactly, referring to the 1st person quoting the entire msg......

I would love to get Jackson to play the 2 with James at the 1. We would have 3 3pt shooters surrounding Yao and Tracy. I don't think his contract is that bad though, of course if they miraculously took Juwan, who would we have to play PF? NovaK?

Jones for Howard straight up. Interesting. No need for Mike James then, right? I know this BBS would crap on themselves if that were to happen. Get rid of Juwan plus get a SG in once move!

If we do that trade, we better have a good idea about who we can pick up at PF.
