Would you try and get Keith Van Horn (expected to not be resigned by Dallas in the wake of the Daniels-Croshere trade) as a backup 4? Currently we're looking at Howard and Hayes at the sposition, with spot duty from Battier.

Thoughts? I don't know what else is realistic (Wilcox isn't, given our assests and his inflated sense of fair market value).

Keith Van Horn isn't what we need.. He played horribly during the playoffs for Dallas. He can't play defense and his offense isn't as good as it used to be.. He only shot 34% during the playoffs. We need someone who can play a little defense and hit some open shots.

He should have retired 3 years ago.

I'd pay him $1MM to come in and foul Amare 6 times.

I'd definitely be up to pay him the veterans minimum if he promises to have big nights against Dallas. That alone would make it worth it. :D

I HATE when former Rockets torch us! Especially if they end up on a serious rival. Could you imagine how much Mavericks fans would hate to see somebody like KVH come in and torch them? Even if it was just once!

KVH is soft, and folds under pressure. Wasn't Kenyon Martin's comments (NJ Nets) during the finals directed squarely at him...?

I wouldn't even insult Juwan's game like that. Van Horn is awful.

Completely agree. I was heart broken when he went down in that series. I'm thoroughly convinced that if he had stayed healthy, WE would have been the team to advance and have our butts handed to us by the Suns.

It's also a little known fact that Avery Johnson actually busted Van Horn's ankle himself.

I don't know what happened to KVH, but damn he absolutely sucks now.

He's horrible, but since he is horrible the Rockets are probably already "scouting" him.

Novak would play any role that Van Horn would come in and play as they are both big men that have great range but terrible mobility and defense. I'de only trade for him if it was for dirt cheap aka giving up Ryan Bowen.

Oh yea....why isnt Bowen on our summer league team? That guy needs to seriously work on his jump shot and to try to expand his five foot range. I think the summer league would be a great opportunity for him to get more experience shooting the ball in game like situations................or to get injured so Van Gundy doesnt get tempted in putting him in games this season.
