So, what does everyone think he will do. Does he:

    A. Modify Hakeems role, give him less minutes, and continue to use his players like he has since Hakeems injury.

    or

    B. Revert to old form and dump it into the post and have Shandon, Cat, Steve, and Bryce stand out on the 3 point line.

I hope it is A, but I'm not convinced it will be.

You are worrying too much and too early. If Rudy would be stupid enough to go back to dymp-it-to-Hak-first, the whole town would laugh his butt off.

If Hakeem has no desire to play basketball, the Rockets need to bench his a$$. I'd rather have a 100% committed Cato at center than a 75% committed Olajuwon. I read somewhere on this BBS that Hakeem is waiting to retire. Maybe he should retire after this season so the Rockets don't have to waste their money on a player who doesn't want to win. Maybe Quitten should have attacked Hakeem's desire and not Barkley's. Chuck is working hard even though the Rockets are a .500 team without franchise and the Dream. I respect CB. My respect for Olajuwon is diminishing as fast as his career.

Please don't be misinformed by my comments. I used my knowledge of this to attack the notion that Hakeem asked Toronto to add an extra year to his contract.

I say we just revert to the old exciting brand of Houston Rocket's Basketball. Lets make that always exciting entry pass into the post and wait for Dream or Chuck to make some moves, stutter step, backin-it-up, backin-it-up, looking, twisting, turning, shaking, baking....(damn they must get tired), and then kick it out for the ever-remarkable 3 point shot. Yeah, I really miss that offense.

On the real, I love having 2 of the best post players of all-time that we can go to at any point in the ball game, I just want to see a better mix. Everyone needs to get their touches. If this team incorporates Dream into what we currently have and continue running, playing solid D, and staying aggressive, I think we'll be good enough to make a lot of noise in then west. Tell me this, who has as much potential variety in the offensive system? We have bonified post play, running game, and we're getting the outside shot back. Here we come!

The keys to Hakeem making a successful transition into our offense are...

Fewer touches, more pick and rolls, more jump shooting, better defense.

BTW, Hakeem should get 25 minutes a game and let Cato get the rest of the minutes. Hakeem is an old guy and needs his rest anyway. Now we finally have someone that can fill his role while he is siting.

I think the Rockets should keep him on the bench, because the Rockets are doing better without him. With him on the bench, they can play a more fast paced game. The Knicks did that in the finals last year, and played pretty good. Visit my homepage at http://rocketsweb.tripod.com/

We should let things stay the same, benching Hakeem is uneccessary unless you want him to ask to be traded. Hakeem should play the way the other big guys are doing. Stand in the low post only when rebounding and dreamshaking, otherwise go to around the 3 point line to set picks and hit jumpers. I have no problem with playing him less though.
