According to this article from Sina, Swift refused to report to Griz. The management of Griz tried in vain to contact him. However, West said he can bring a third team in to complete the trade.

Believe it or not, it is your judgment.

This is a non-issue for the Rockets. West wanted Gay not Swift.

He'll dump Swift to the highest bidder

    bwahahahaha.

I was under the impression that Swift had ZERO trade value otherwise we wouldn't have dumped him like that. Most of the trade-naysayers thought he had some decent value hence the disappointment in the trade.

Now we'll find out how much trade value Swift has ...but much sooner than I expected.

We need to start a list of those that can't be referenced as legitimate sources/rumors:

    Hoopsworld
    ABC13
    Hoopsworld
    Sina

    did I mention Hoopsworld...

I am sure there are more.

Since the trade isn't official until 7/12, is he even required to report yet?

Watch, West will manage to trade him for Wilcox or someone else that could help the Rockets. I just have a feeling.

You guys might think i'm out of my mind but what if Swift continues this and the Grizzlies end up cutting him, would you welcome him back if he was willing to re-sign for cheap/short term contract?

I know he sucks and I know everybody was disappointed that he wasn't exactly all we had hoped he would be but he does provide depth and isn't a bad option at the 4/5 off of the bench.

He could resign anywhere at that point, I doubt he'd chose to come back here. But yes, I'd take him back simply because he can play spot minutes at 5 playing against more athletic teams.

Playing the Suns right now scares me without Stro. The Suns always run Yao off the court and the best we can do now is Deke or Juwan at center.

remember with the Quitten trade, one of the guys we got, what's-his-name, we cut him immediately and he turned right around and signed back with the Blazers again..

    What WAS that guy's name??

The Quitten trade included a crap load of extra players simply to make salaries match. Everybody involved knew the Rockets would immediately cut several players ...which we did. So Augmon knew this wasn't a personal thing ...he just got caught in a #'s game.

To compare the Quitten trade to Swift is poor. With Swift, it is personal. He was singled out and got dumped for basically nothing.

Oh I agree with you, I did not mean to say the situations were similar, except that it was a time where I remembered that it had happened.

And I know Swift has said he is not happy about going to the Griz, but I have not really heard any bridge-burning regarding Houston as such. Perhaps he's more upset about LEAVING Houston than about going TO Memphis again.. Someone else would probably give him more money, but would the Rockets even consider trying to get him back if the Griz simply dumped him? A guy saying he will not report is not going to have much trade value..

I could remember that He didnt play more minuntes on Grizzles When He played on the floor in 2004-2005. He left to buy out of Grizzles teams, but he would possibly be upset if he did hear to trade in memphis for Shane Battier
