I came to clutch city.com mainly to read Clutch's entertaining game recaps when I was in uni. I found the sports.yahoo.com recaps robotic and lacking a personal perspective. I found the BBS after playing around all the different features and enjoyed reading the posts from fellow die hard Rocket fans. If it wasn't for the compulsory registration I would have remained a lurker. Most of the time I refrain from posting b/c someone else has already posted what I would have said.
Hilarious! I ran the kissasylum.com website as well as the Rockets Launch pad site. I did them concurrently until it became too much work. Funny that the computer lab computer had them bookmarked. Probably by a KISS/Rockets fan. ;-) If for some reason it was a computer lab at Trinity University...then I am the one that probably bookmarked them. LOL
I was living in NYC and found clutchcity on a rocket fan circle (i think it was called) where different rockets sites were linked together. That was late 90s. I was the original TheBigE but never posted and at some point my sign in wouldn't work so I created the Hayesstreet account.
I was surfing on the net looking for authentic Rockets news. Rockets.com was boring and I stumbled onto clutchcity.net which is one of the best things that ever happened to me.
Spooky! It was the computer lab of Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, TX... the former campus of Trinity University pre-1927!! Wow. Kinda neat!
I really can't remember how I found out about it. Probably was due to a google search or my friend that also loves the Rockets may have told me. I registered and posted a few times, but I think I never changed the default password they sent me or something, because I lost my password somewhere along the way. I had changed from my msn internet account to ev1.net to now I'm on cable internet. I actually emailed the board administrators recently to try and get my password back for this username. I never heard back from them. I couldn't imagine what e-mail it was under, since they don't allow hotmail. I had tried all of my e-mails. I finally put in my msn.com sign in and sure enough it said my password had been sent to my e-mail. Then, I just had to figure out how I was going to check an msn.com email account when I havemn't had msn internet service for 5 years. Unbeknownst to me, I could still check my msn through hotmail.com. So, to make a long story a little bit shorter at least, I just got my password back last week lol I should be posting more now, which may be good news or bad. But, I have been around lurking for a long time. Longer than I even would have guessed, until I saw my sign up date.
When I originally found clutchcity, google did not exist. I found it when hotbot was king. I don't even think clutchcity was even the domain name back then.
