    Can someone explain the BYC players and their trade issues?

    For example, how can Houston trade for a BYC Troy Murphy?

    It's a bit to complicated to be worth explaining here, so just read the link that Raid provided. It's got all the info you need, though it's explanation is a bit complicated in itself.

    As for Murphy, his BYC will go away on July 12 just like Battier, since they signed an extension in the same offseason.
