Supposedly Joe McDonnell is reporting on 570AM in Los Angeles that the Lakers and Hawks have agreed to a sign and trade. Here are the details. Lakers get- Al Harrington Atlanta gets- Chris Mihm Brian Cook Aaron McKie McDonnell is also reporting that Sam Cassell is interested in becoming a Laker for the LLE, but that´s not even close to a done deal at this point, with a promise to join the coaching staff when he retires. I have my doubts on this one, but it would be a nice pickup.
Lakers make out like bandits on that one. I don't think Mitch Kupchak has it in him to rip off another team like that.
eh, the league is a business, ppl dont have hearts, if atlanta wants to make the trade then LA will happily accept, even if they basically steal harrington from atlanta, all LA cares about is gettin better, not wat will happen to atlanta's status if they do the trade
Astonishing if true. The Rockets should counter with JH,DM(back to the Hawks) LH and a future 1st round pick. Al Harrington would be much better than Stro or Howard.
HELL NO, we would then be depleted on the bench, I would not trade away Luther Head or Moutombo. I like Howard alot, but i also like Harrington, so a Howard and 1st for Harrington would be good, but i doubt we are gonna get him now.
The LA media reports a lot of stuff on the radio that never materializes. I swear they have some of the quickest trigger fingers in the country. At least with the NY media, it's pretty much understood that they're just making stuff up to sell papers. I'd wait to see if this happens or not.
I highly doubt this true. Hawks are dumb but not this dumb. Lakers will sign Radman so I doubt Harrington signs with them.
It probably won't matter but we could pick up Cato with the smaller TE and a 2nd round pick to replace Deke. I like L.Head but I wouldn't have a problem giving him up for Al Harrington. We could still get Mike James with the MLE to replace Head.
Mihm, Cook, and Mckie are all on the last year of their contracts. This is probably just a way for the Hawks to meet minimum salary requirements for the season and save their cap space for next offseason, where the free agent crop of not as weak.
Lakers just bought Harrington from the Hawks for about 15 cents on the dollar. Although it does makes sense if you consider it from a financial standpoint; Steve Belkin, the owner who tried to nix the Joe Johnson deal, is supposedly back in charge.
That's why Rockets is such a mismanaged team. They don't have any assets or salaries to get in the action even opportunity presents. What happended to those non-JVG players etc? Yea, they were traded or let go for nothing.
Wait, wait, wait. Joe McDonnell is reporting this? I missed that part. It ain't true, people. This guy pulls stuff out of his ass all the time. He never understands the situation and is a big laker homer. DA signed with the rockets last year, and he asked "Why didn't the lakers go after this guy?" They did, and DA turned them down. He just didn't know that. Said the same thing about Tim Thomas, when TT just wanted to go to the suns and their system. He didn't know that either. He's clueless. Why would Atlanta want expirings when they could just let Al walk?
Thi trade most likely won't go down, i don't think a package of Mihm and other fillers cant tempt Atlanta. Unless they really want to dump harrington, then i could understant. And one more thing, if somehow Mitch pulls this trade of then he should recieve some award. Suddenly we look threatening.
Hilarious! The Hawks get raped in that deal. The Lakers aren't getting Harrington. The Hawks are dangling Harrington to get a PG and the Lakers dont have one they want. Reportedly the Pacers are looking to re-acquire Harrington in a S&T. I bet they are using Tinsley as the bait. The Lakers dont have any assets they want to move. Their best bet is to try to S&T Devean George somewhere for an asset.
i dont think atlanta is getting jupped at all. harrington could walk for nothing, in this trade atlanta is getting a 15 and 8 guy out of mihm who is a great center in the west, and will be even better in the west. brian cook can spread defenses, and theyre both young. i think the lakers lose a lot of depth on this trade. harrington puts up big numbers on a lot of shots, a bad percentage on an awful team.
Kwame is a capable center, Bynum could develop. The center position is not their problem. And I like their Radmanovic signing. They're a PG and a sixth man away from looking good again.
