We could "Go Phoenix" in defending big PFs. Front and have Yao help over the top. Use Yao or Tracy as a double-teamer. Either of those guys has the size/length to be excellent at doubling down on any size post player. As for the offensive end, IF Battier can run off screens and shoot off picks at a high percentage, then that would be huge. You don't want your franchise PF chasing a guy through picks. But that's still a big if because they didn't run a whole lot of plays for him in Memphis. I really have no idea if he can do it or not. (I bet Rudy Gay could do it. But enough about that) But IF Shane could do something like that, it would be extremely valuable in dictating the matchup.
If we are pretty set in the back court they aren't going to be making an effort to package Howard in another deal. I see this move is just as important as getting rid of Swift! I was hoping that we would package Howard and our 2007 1st. round pick for Pacers Jackson.Which means that we would play without a traditional Power Forward till next year. As thery are planning to start Battier as the Power Forward it won't be too far fetched an idea.
Man, that is UGLY. The only way Steve Patterson will ever be able to get rid of Randolph is by paying a mafia hit man.
