I think so. He has decent size, great speed, great court vision, and a good shot. He is a good defender, also. It really depends on how much better I beleive he can become. If Cuttino's jumpshot becomes automatic, he is a keeper at $5mil/yr. So far, it seems his outside shot is streaky. If that improves, he should be worth the money since he can drive around any defender and is good at finding the open man. Basically, I'm still undecided but leaning toward shelling out the cash. How about you? I'd enjoy reading your assessment about this situation.
With his work ethic and dramatic improvement(in one summer),I'd have to be inclined to agree with you.He's only going to get better.We have other players we can deal to fill our needs.I really think that a starting lineup of: Stevie Cat Anderson Cato Dream could be our best bet going into the playoffs this year......With Chuck coming in first off the bench.I digress though.I apologize.It's just that when I examine Cat's talent closer,I just can't help but think he should be playing alongside Stevie and Shandon.I know people say his production off the bench is needed and I can see that argument.From the sounds of it,we probably will make some kind of deal and this could take care of that bench production.Mack is still out there.He's just too good to keep out of the starting lineup in my opinion....4yrs/20mil.....a bargain these days if he continues his path.The guy can pretty much get to the line at will which makes up for his bad shooting % right now.........think of the fastbreaks with that lineup whoa!Yes we might have matchup problems at times,but I think we would present many more for the other team. Also ,remember how we were talking about Stevie playing the 2 once in awhile?Because of Cat and (of course)Francis's versatility they could flip flop at times.Just a thought....How's that grab you? I think Cat should start, too. Drew can provide scoring off the bench. Walt will do the same (when he is out of his slump). We still have T-Mass and Kenny Thomas can get the job done. That lineup you suggested just makes us thin at the guard position (Brian Shaw?). But, like you said, we can make a deal for a back up 2 guard. We can also use a rotation that moves Shandon to the two, at times. There are ways to work around it, but Cat should start (despite the fact that he gets starters minutes anyway). That's right! You know guys I have to say that I am proud to post on this board. You guys have tried to come up with solutions to our sometimes lackluster offense scheme and our disappearing defense late in games using hard facts and empirical data, instead of emotion and nostalgia. Also I have seen very little name calling, b*tching or moaning about how so-and-so is being "mean". I agree that a Win is a Win. However I would like to see the Rox play better so that can kill teams like Vancouver and hang with the NBA elite. I am asking too much? Maybe for now. But I really see the roots of a strong team here. I look forward to watching the Rox and reading your posts in the future. Mulder I think if you compare our talent, who played last night, to The Griz we may be lucky to win. Charles is still a good PF, Cato is an up and coming C, Cuttino is an aggressive, streaky shooter, Drew is also a streaky shooter at the point (even though I feel he is more of a 2 thean a point), and Anderson is an average SG. Not to cut on Anderson but there are alot of SG who can play. Top that off with Cato being in foul trouble and you have a situation where we are playing 2 PFs and 3 SGs (I sill argue Drew is a shooter). Walt Williams did play minutes as well and he is a true 3, but I feel, that if you compare hime to other SFs he is in the bottom part of the league. I am definetely happy to get a win with the lineup we had last night, but I can understand your point about wanting to win by more.
