Raptors are going to lose Mike James and have Bargnani now so it makes sense. Besides, Ford is the perfect PG who likes to pass 1st shoot 2nd to run with Bosh who himself wanted Mike James to share the rock more.

I like the trade for the Raps. Villanueva is overated. His potential has a short ceiling in my opinion. But why do the Bucks need another big man? They have Magloire, Gadzuric, Smith, Bogut, and possibly Kukoc. And does anyone know where the hell Villanueva's eyebrows went? That alone pisses me off.

i don't think toronto could have gotten more. villanueva was the #7 overall pick last year and ford was #8 in 2003. they are both very young and haven't played alot in the nba. toronto would have been folish to ask for anything more than an additional 2nd round pick at the most. their value is pretty even.

skilled big men are pretty rare, but again, toronto didn't NEED 3 of them. they needed a PG and got one of the best young PG's in the nba.

i think you are overatting villanueva's value. despite having a very good rookie season, it was just one year and the guy has had a pension in the past for being inconsistent on the floor. no one is going to give the farm for a guy going into just his 2nd year, REGARDLESS of how good he is.

toronto should be happy with the trade because they got a really good, young player at possibly the most important position on the floor in today's nba. and fits EVERYTHING that toronto needs.

it's a good trade for toronto, but they still are going to suck. they are about 3-deep, and that's including bargnani.

Sorry I don't have any links, but Raptors management wasn't sold on Villaneuva's attitude and work ethic. That was speculated on a lot last season. He had some really good games but they don't feel he will get much better.

I am no longer a Bucks fan.

I am now a HUGE Raptors fan. They have one player I really care about (TJ) and another who is one of my favorite NBA players (Bosh). Plus, I want Colangelo to succeed.

It's a pretty decent deal for Toronto.

There's no love for Mike James.

I doubt Houston will pick him up....

Bah. At least you got some value. Try dumping a guy who's equally as talented for a role player and dumping another supreme athlete for the heck of it. No, I'm not bitter.

Phoenix is going to regret letting go of BC. His dad must be livid at that new owner over there.

I don't know if you know, but Charlie V. suffers from Alopecia Areata, an autoimmune skin disease resulting in hair loss all over the body. It pisses you off? That’s sad.

Hakeem06, you've succeeded in changing my view on this trade :D However Charlie V was a fan favorite who did a lot for this community, plus he honestly wanted to play the rest of his career in Toronto (It’s rare for us to hear that from an NBA player)

Overall, I think this trade improves the team. Plus this increases our chances of getting Peja.

Solid trade for the Raptors, in my opnion. Charlie V is a prolific scorer and will get better still, but like others mentioned, he became a bit redundant on that roster. Plus, solid true point's such as Ford are rarer to come by then scoring forwards. It seems like Ford is past his big injury, and if so, he could be a big part of an uptempo Toronto offense. I could see him averaging 14 and 7 this year.

Not a bad trade for Milwaukee either I guess, provided Mo Williams can handle being the main point.

Does this mean the Rockets are getting Mike James and Ford will start?

i'm glad to hear charlie's a good guy and i know how hard it is in toronto for these american ball players to actually want to stay there. but tj's an excellent person as well and alongside former texas teammate pj tucker and former texan prepster chris bosh, he'll be happy there too.

and i'm also glad to see that i was able to swade your opinion on the deal. sometimes we get caught up in "talent" and lose sight of how this helps the team. tj helps the team more than charlie and is a very talented player himself.

Eh... At first I felt bad about what I said. Felt bad for Charlie. Then I realized he is a millionaire. He's fine.

That's it!!! I could not agree with you any more.

Why couldn't CD do anything like this trade??? Why couldn't Rox put a talented, young man into their starting lineup instead of some veteran like Howard???

We really need some tough guy to play 4 defending Tim or Dirk. But who?

Everyone else is improving beyond the next step, while Rockets are only improving laterally.
