Brazil will do it on Euro soil for the only time besides 58 and Pele.

Argentina's tactics and subs with the lead late in the game were reminiscent of Guy V. Lewis deciding to slow it down and play it safe against the Wolfpack in the second half in 1983.

Having to sub out the keeper really hurt him tactically.

It's a nice theme to this world cup..they can't handle the pressure of going back to their country after losing the world cup...too much tension built up for 4 years lol

Oh man, how typical italians, at one moment they almost get a goal against them(they save the ball twice from the goal line), and a minute later they score :( Game over :(

Ok Germany-italia will be the semi finals

    2-0 Italy

Nice save by Buffon, then Toni gets a header in the other end.

    Tough luck for ukraine.

I like them...not one of my favorite favorites..but definitly was a good win for them and they got some nice momentum going into the game against Germany...looks like they finally found an offense...granted it was against the Ukraine and i doubt they will be able to get into the box that easily against this german team..

I know they played well against them this year beating them 4-1 but i don't think italy is going to pull it off against the germans this year...

i heard on dutch television that a couple of countries are interested in getting Leo Beenhakker(coach T&T), two of them are the USA and Mexico. Has anybody else also heard this? and what are your opinions?

    Sorry no Link

About the above pics, are they referring to the bitter and ugly racism I saw on the Real Sports episode?

3 things you can count on in life.

    1. Taxes
    2. Death
    3. Germany winning on PK.

I've also heard him mentioned as a candidate for the USA job, but only as speculation. I don't think I know enough about him to make an informed decision, but tentatively I wouldn't mind bringing him on board - getting any kind of success out of T&T (beating Mexico?!) is fairly admirable and apparently he's an advocate of an attacking style of soccer. It'd be nice to see the USA be able to create goals out of controlled build-up, and if he can coach that, I'd be provisionally on board.
