Personally, I still feel ill, like I want to kill myself. But, I guess that this year/next year are not the time to stop watching out of frustration. Because it is obvious we want to win now, and I mean now! The one mistake I hope the Rockets are not making, is thinking that only Battier will be enough. We need at least one other player of Battiers level or IMO slightly better. Whether it is Mike James, or who knows.... If the Rockets dont bring someone else in, I will consider the potential we once had dead. People are saying that.... Yao/Deke Howard/Hayes/Battier/Novak(matchups) Battier/Bogans/McGrady/Novak McGrady/Head/Wesley Alston/Head/McGrady Is a lineup that can contend next year. That is ridiculous. That is by far one of the slowest least multi-dimensional teams ever. Granted Yao or Tracy will show up most nights. But if those 2 are not creating............ In the playoffs you need more than 1-2 solid roleplayers. We made a huge mistake, we got less talented, older and less deep. Les obviously is not planning on keeping the franchise long.
That's how it looks as of right NOW minus Wesley. A legit player with the MLE (hopefully) and athleticism for depth is hopefully what the Rocket Brass is aiming for.

Rudy Gay will be better than Shane Battier, at the end of their respective careers. Gay does not have to do much. I buy Shane as an "intangibles guy" I like him. Just not the price. No way Swift had a negative value. If we would have gotten Lo Wright for bu pf and c, I would be happy. We got raped. And it hurts.
If Gay does 10/5 for his career like Battier has people will call him a bust. With that out of the way, I believe we have the oldest and slowest rotation in the NBA.
I think it's obvious we are going to sing some free agents in the next few weeks so the roster is not complete yet. The Rockets will contend for a championship next season. You can get on the bandwagon next May if you want.

I bet when we look at the statlines at the end of the season, Gay will definitely win. However, if Battier can get a couple (actually hopefully more thn a couple) playoff wins for us (something that he's never done?)...then...i guess...it was for the better *cringe*
