If Rocks are able to draft Roy. Giving up most of the MLE on JJ wouldn't be so bad. As long as the Rocks have enough of the MLE left over to add Qyntel Woods. Use the TE to trade for Padgett, Rafer's understudy at point, and the third PG JVG wants in Steve Blake or a speculator in Travis Diener and the Rockets are set for next season.
I liked him at Indiana too, but wasn't sure how he'd do in the pros. He seemed to have a little bit of that deer-in-the-headlights look on him, kinda like Terence Morris did. But looks can be deceiving. I can count on my hands the times I've seen as a pro, but it took me by suprise when I see people talking about him as a 2. I always saw him as a predominant 4, maybe swinging up or down 1 spot(3, 5) depending on the matchups, but I never saw him as a 2 agility-wise. At any rate since he's making 2.8 mil now I would assume he would want a minimum of 4 mil per on a new contract. I also remember his last year at Indiana they had a frosh that I thought had nice potential as a 4/5 banger, shot-blocker. Don't know what happened to him. Can't remember his name, but he would have had to have drafted, or not by now.
Agreed...I don't see 2 at all. He's athletic, but he's not a freak. I see him as a 3/4 all the way. I may be off-base here, but I thought Jeffries was comparable to Rudy Gay without the blinding athleticism. Coming out of college, Jeffries was probably actually more skilled(Better ball-handler, better shooter). I think he would actually be an excellent fit on this team. Depending on our draft, he can backup both forward positions and match up at 5 against small-ball lineups. I know you don't acquire people just to stop one person, but I think Jeffries is the perfect guy to guard Dirk Nowitzki, Boris Diaw, etc...
Yeah, I kinda agree. I'm interested in CHEAP contributors. Definitely not worth full MLE money, but if he's willing to play for peanuts, then you could color me interested ...
