anyone know the past players who have averaged these kind of stats? I know Wade and Chris Paul. I just got a thought in my head that all players who have averaged these kind of stats have all been successful in the NBA. If all of them have been successful, then we have to pick Brandon Roy.
I dont think its cut and dry like that... I didnt look very long, but Reggie Freeman 6'6 G from University of Texas 96-97 21.8 pts, 7 rbs, 4.2 assists ever heard of him? me neither
Luke Jackson had 21/7/4.5. He also had a 40" vertical like Roy...how did he do? Roy may be good, but you can't assume Roy is going to be a star because of Wade and Paul.
I kind of know that... I'm just saying, there could be a higher success rate for those that averaged 20/5/5.
Pac 10 was really down this year other than UCLA. Arizona and Stanford had their worst teams in years so that could make his stats look better than they should.
Luke Jackson's has had 2 back surgeries along with knee problems since being drafted by the Cavs. One of the things I will be watching on draft day is where JJ Redick is picked, if Redick falls to the second round, you can bet the injury reports were pretty serious. Nobody wants to pay first round guaranteed money to a guy that may never see the floor.
I remember him. He was basically the one decent player the Horns had on the their team(before Barnes - maybe Penders era?) and they pretty much let him do anything he wanted including take every shot for long periods of time. Last I heard he went to play in Mexico after he didn't get drafted. Dude couldn't shoot to save his life....but that didn't stop him from trying! I remember seeing him play and to compare stats between the two is a travesty. That might have been Texas' last year in the Southwest Conference - obviously not a big time basketball conference at the time. Roy is the real deal - no need to break down stats to figure that out.
Yeah, but all 3 have last names that could be first names, so Brandon Roy will probably be great as well!
Now THIS is true. It's undeniable. Lebron James, Steve Francis, Carmelo Anthony, Tim Duncan, Jason Terry, Dwight Howard, Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis, Shawn Marion, Ben Gordon, even Paul Pierce. We absolutely must get Brandon Roy.
Reggie Freeman was one of my favorite players during his time at UT. He could light it up with the best of them.
