I think that's a pretty good deal because Garnett's contract won't get them dollar-for-dollar value in return anyways.

    Center: Mark Blount
    Power Forward: Troy Murphy
Small Forward: #9 draft pick maybe?
    Shooting Guard: Ricky Davis/Mickael Pietrus
    Point Guard: Baron Davis

That team would be in a better position to contend in the long run than one that has Garnett and 14 scrubs. Their team would get back players that can immediately fill starter roles.

    Center: Adonal Foyle
    Power Forward: Kevin Garnett
    Small Forward: Mike Dunleavy
    Shooting Guard: Jason Richardson
    Point Guard: Derek Fisher

The #6 they get from Minny puts them in a position to draft a player that fills a weak position (Marcus Williams at PG; Rodney Carney at SF; Patrick O'Bryant at C)

    Works out for everyone. :D

detroit didn't get rid of grant hill. he chose to leave. he even took out a full page ad in the detroit free press thanking the fans and telling them he had to move on and whatever. detroit would have resigned him if he wanted to stay. he had a good relationship with them so they worked out a sign and trade deal so he could get the most money possible.

They'll sell enough tickets. Their payroll gets slashed a lot if they move KG without taking salaries back. And if they keep losing they're going to lose attendance anyway. I'm sure it's happening already, just like in Philly where AI just doesn't draw them in like he used to. KG is 30 years old. Might as well bite the bullet before he loses any more value. And I'm sure their fans will be refreshed with the promise of playing youngsters.

Rebuilding all the way is the smartest move for the T-wolves franchise.

If they trade Garnett and rebuild, the city may lose interest in the franchise. Minneapolis isn't exactly a hotbed of basketball passion. They need to get rid of the OTHER Kevin now since they will probably do so anyway next year. To me, the choice is so obvious I can't believe they haven't done it already. Kiki is out there if they want an establish NBA hand to take over the operation.

The T-Wolves better get really good value if they let KG go. We all know they won't.
