I still think that Rudy Gay is the most talented player in this draft, and he doesn't seem to have any durability or character issues. I'd be absolutely ecstatic if he fell to #8, or if the Rockets managed to move up.

The draft can't come soon enough. :)

Gay may be a good fit but Roy would be awesome to for our rosters in almost all areas.

It sounds like your more into Roy but not gay. But if you would really study the film I think you would become a bigger Gay guy.

I haven't seen the Gay highlights yet, but how's his shot... is it money? What about the ball handling?

If we get someone as good as Griffin, but without the psychological baggage, I will be very happy.

I don't see how anyone could be upset with Gay. While I don't like the idea of McGrady moving back to the two, he would give us a long, athletic three who can hit his jumpers and finish around the rim, but can also play the four in a smaller, more uptempo lineup. I don't like him as a full-time four, but he has enough athleticism and length to get the job done in certain situations.

If we could keep Head and possibly obtain Mike James with the MLE, the lineup would be pretty impressive (and would even leave open the option of using an exception to trade Howard for another four or Swift for a a combo four/five):
    1: Alston/James/Head
    2: McGrady/Head/Boggans
    3: Gay/McGrady/Bowen
    4: Howard/Swift/Gay/Hayes
    5: Yao/Mutombo/Swift

Ball handling is his one big weakness. Everything else he does above average, and has the athleticism/elevation on his jump shot to be a big time player in the NBA. Lot of scouts question his drive but IMO he just likes to defer to his teammates, I can see him taking over games down the stretch after his sophomore season. Like other explosive athletes today (Wade, Arenas), he has a lightning quick first step in addition to great length… which separates him from the rest of the draft class. Ceiling is higher than anyone in the last 2 draft classes with the exception of Dwight Howard.

Gay, Roy and Brewer are the only people I would want with a top 10 pick.

I dont really have anything against rudy, but I guess I have just gotten use to watching TMac at the three. I am all for this move if Tracy is willing to move to the 2, but if he doesnt want to then I say take someone that is a better all around player at the 2 position or a player that can spread the defense.

T-Mac can create havoc at the 2, with his size and athletiscm, Gay and McGrady would be extremely durable.

I'm no insider but if I were a betting man, I bet that McGrady does not want to chase around 2s.

Rudy is extremely versatile.....he can play two positions easily. Either the two or three and he'll be fine.

That's what I love most about him...we fill two positions.

Rudy is more explosive, athletic and pretty much a better overall player than Brandon Roy (not taking anything away from Roy at all....he's great) I think if Charlotte passes on Gay.....then we trade up to get him. Minny wants him too. We would get the steal of the draft.

I can hear Gene now, "Gay to Head for the easy put in."

I'm pretty sure the "last minute HW" has to do with the Rockets trading up to #5. If Morrison and Roy are gone then Gay is the guy.

I say stick him at the four with T-Mac at the three, a long range shooter that can D-up at the two (Bruce Bowen-esque) and Rafer at the one. It would cause match-up nightmares for teams with guys like Duncan and DIrk trying to stay with Gay.

Tracy would have to lose a lot those pounds he put on to bulk up for the 3 spot, if he's going to chase 2s a lot more than he has lately.
