Looks like Rockets are aggresively trying to infuse some fresh blood to retool the roaster and might have found an ally or to in Atlanta (who wants to add some size and experience) and/or Portland who wants to get rid off Miles at any cost. Imagine if something like this could be worked out.

Rockets send Moochie Norris TE+Howard (or Swift+Bowen)+8th Pick+32pick to Atlanta for 5th Pick and Josh Childress + 6M+ TE. Then Rockets send TE to Portland for Miles and as a compensation, Portland sends either the 4th pick or something like Jarett Jack+Travis Outlaw for Bobby Sura.

Why would Atlanta do it? They need some size up front and Swift would 'potentially' provide that, + they still get a high enough pick to draft Shelden William. The 32 nd pick is a compensation to absorb Bowen and provide a TE high enough to facilitate our trade with Portland.

Why would Portland do it? Simply, to get rid off of the contract of Miles. Is fourth pick(or Outlaw +Jack) more precious than 40 M (over the next five years) for a player who has publicly said that he does not want to be there.

Why would Rockets do it? Well, they desperately need some size, athleticism, depth, outside shooting and parameter defense at the wing position and fortunately will be able to absorb Miles's contract. The picks will allow us to add an impact player or two, Bargnani/Aldrich Thomas with one pick and Roy with the other. This will put the combined salaries at 61-62 Million, just around the projected Luxury tax range. If Portland chooses to send Outlaw and Jack instead of the fourth pick then we can sign James as a free agent as free agent (since we get rid off Sura and combined salaries of Outlaw +Jack =4th pick). That puts our pat roll at about 64M and a heck of a roaster.

    Yao/Mutombo
    Howard(Swift)/5th pick/Hayes
    TMac/Miles/Childress
    Childress/Roy/Head
    Alston/Sura/Roy

    or

    Yao/Mutombo
    Howard(Swift)/5th pick/Hayes
    TMac/Miles/Outlaw/Childress
    Childress/Head
    Alston/James/Jack

Is it too good to be true? Well we can at least dream...

while i can see the trade happening, I can't agree with your logic &/or actual trade specifics.

Yes. The Atlanta rumor of Juwan + #8 for #5 is the pipe dream to end all pipe dreams. And the Portland rumor of Juwan + #8 for Miles +#4 is probably in our favor too. But you've taken those trades and taken the wishful thinking to another level. No way it can go down they way you're dreaming them to be.

If they had to choose between sending their #4 or "something" for Sura, I am pretty sure the Rockets will get a Fedex box full of "something" before we even sniff that #4 pick.

I thought trade exceptions couldn't be combined with anything anyway. Wouldn't that pretty much make this guy's idea DOA?

“Moochie Norris TE+Howard (or Swift+Bowen)+8th Pick+32pick to Atlanta for 5th Pick and Josh Childress + 6M+ TE”

    it is impossible

i think you would have to throw in Eddie Griffin to make that happen ...but if they ask for Maurice Taylor, I would have to say no

Don't you see!? That just makes the plan all the more ingenious. By the time Atlanta or Portland find that out, it will all be too late.

    BWAHAHAHHAHAH.

He didn't say trade Moochie Norris. I believe he's referring to a trade exception we received from the Moochie Norris trade. I'm guessing that's what the TE after Moochie's name stands for.

Well what kind of fun is that? It was better trying to send players that we don't have anymore.

It may sound funny to some of you at this point, but my proposed deal, at least in part is a strong possibilty. When I suggested, for the first time Glen Rice +pick(s) for TE, people made fun of it till it indeed got materialized. My proposed deal of TE from Norris trade for Childress and Howard (or Swift+Bowen+32nd pick) for the fifth pick + 6M+ TE, is good for both sides. TE in access of MLE would come in handy for us, be it with a trade with Portland or TE+Head and/or future first rounder for Maggette or Turkaglu or 10 pick+Forston or for a sign and trade for a Power Forward.

Just skimming the front page, it looks like the Rox are drafting Brandon Roy, Rudy Gay, Tyrus Thomas, Brewer, and maybe Rodney Carney or JJ Redick should they become available, in exchange for Luther Head, Juwan Howard, Stromile Swift, the Norris trade exemption, and the #8 pick. So some of it might be too good to be true.
