calm down buddy. "Serenity Now" i'm thinkin the Rockets and their scouts know a little bit more about Tryus Thomas than you do. I think he will be a good player and would be happy if they traded up for him.

If we have to take Miles, why don't we just admit that we're blowing up the team, because that is what he does to locker rooms. No thanks. I would love to trade up, but please, not for Miles.

Too good to be true. I hope Portland's GM don't read this board though.

fair enough. what abut his game do you think fits in to what the rox need? outside of athleticism (sp?) this guy provides very little. he is an undersized PF. tell me where I am wrong.

Could we somehow send Miles out for an 'Extreme Makeover'? Dude is f-in scary lookin!

But sure, swap picks and send them JHo for Miles.. we can send Miles to go hang with George Foreman for a couple of weeks.. I gar-ron-tee his attitude would change.. plus, it might put a little meat on those skinny bones of his!

Your going to pay Miles $9 mil per to be third string sf and third string pf (he can't play pf)?

Roy should definitely be our #1 target IMO, but Thomas is intriguing (sp?) shoud he fall to 4, if he can hit open jumpers. I only saw him a couple of times during the tourney and all I really remember was dunk highlights.

I guess if we did trade up to 4 involving Howard and Miles, we'd almost have to take Thomas. Otherwise we become short on PF's and have a glut at 2/3 if we took Roy in that deal. As far as Miles, I'll take him if we must but he should not be considered a starter and key part of this team for the time being...he's going to have to prove himself. I just worry that with him and Swift we are really going to be lacking offensively.

I could see us trading up to 6 if Roy is still there at that point though. Something tells me JVG wants Reddick or Foye at 8 though if none of the deals go through. There are so many possibilities this year it is unreal.

Am I the only one who thinks this trade doesnt make sense at all? Portland could and probably still would easily trade Miles to Knicks for an expiring contract like Mo taylor. Why would they want to swap their 4th pick to 8th pick and pick up JHo's horrible contract? Of course we should do it in a heart beat if this trade is on the table. I wont mind to take Mo back with his last year contract. It might even be an asset at trade deadline.

Maybe the Blazers aren't just looking for an expiring contract. I don't like Juwan as much as the next guy, but I understand that he is a servicable vet that still has some juice left in him. Also, Juwan's contract isn't nearly as bad as Miles.

After going through the Stromile Swift project this year (JVG unable to get Swift to be as productive as we'd hoped), it makes me sick at my stomach to think about the possibility of adding Miles, his FAT contract, and his attitude issues. Then consider that we have to get rid of Howard's vocal leadership and strong work ethic, and it seems like a terrible situation just waiting to happen.

I just don't see JVG turning Miles around, but I sure can see Miles starting a lockeroom mutiny against JVG as soon as the first rift sets in. If we get Miles and he doesn't change his colors, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see us have a mediocre year and JVG shown the door at the end of the year.

I'd rather just sit tight at #8 or look for other trading options out there.

I don't know. JVG has had some knuckleheads before who he's turned around. And the most important thing is that JVG has Yao and TMac on his side. Miles is the type of guy that can follow TMac's lead. JVG is already known as a coach that doesn't take crap, and players know that. Mo Cheeks, Nate McMillan, they get b****ed around by everyone.

It seems like to me that the main way you get into Van Gundy's doghouse is if you don't play defense. At the very least, Darius Miles will play defense at three positions and play it well. Van Gundy had no problems with Latrell Sprewell and he wasn't exactly without issues when he came to the Knicks. Miles is essentially being given away for a reason, of course. He's burned so many bridges in Portland and has such a huge contract that they have every incentive to get rid of him. I don't think the Knicks would bail out Portland for a bad shooting three when they are loaded with overpriced wing players as it is. The Rockets offer might make the most sense for Portland, especially if they think Adam Morrison, the player they supposedly covet, is going to the Bobcats at #3. I say the Rockets should roll the dice if only to get a real impact player at the #4 pick. I worry about Miles, but some players work better as sidemen with other stars. Maybe Miles can blend in and live up to his potential.

How serious is Miles's knee problem? He had knee surgery in December, started playing in February, then missed a few games in April because of knee complaints.

Tyrus = Swift of 2005-2006, if JVG handles the offense of the Rockets.

    spot on m-Cable

he really needs the ball in his hands to be effective he is a point forward.... and when will he get the ball with TMac and Yap around here......

we need speed, slashers and shooter and most of all legitimate starters, right now we have 2 maybe 3 at a stretch

stro can be useful. we need to stockpile as much athleticism as possible.
