I don't think so. I think they mean just a deal centered around those two with obviously Miles being the more desireable player of the two so our #8 to make up for that. Screw that. I'm not giving up the #8 unless #4 is involved.
TE's can't be used that way. Anyway, Miles contract isn't very attractive to take on. TMac trade rumours will be flying if it goes through though.
Agreed, JHo and 8 for Miles and the 30,31 is downright laughable, I don't care how much anyone hates Juwan. I suprised they even offered - I would laugh my ass off if I were CD.
While I think Miles is an ONION HEAD !! I think he would be better suited in the Rockets locker room, where JVG is clearly in charge, and you have 2 guys that are clearly the leaders of the team. Sometimes players are not comfortable being the man, but are happy to be the sidekick, Miles is, IMHO, one of those players. DD
P.S. If they somehow pulled off Miles for Howard and swapped the 8 for either Minnesota's 6 or Portland's 4, I would play Miles at the 4 with McGrady and Roy on the perimeter.
Isn't Nate McMillan clearly in charge in Portland? Isn't Randolph the "superstar" of the team? Miles is immature. Maybe he could grow up next to McGrady, but it's more likely that he and JVG will not get along.
I don't even want Miles on this team. He can be a great defender when he wants to be, but the "conduct detrimental to the team" aspect scares the crap out of me.
Tyrus Thomas? Yeah, lets get a raw, athletic, LSU forward on this team. Because that worked out really well last year. This team needs Brandon Roy.
It's that time again. I'm not the biggest fan of Thomas but he could be a great fit if he pans out. Moving up into the Top 4 would be big. Here's the big question: IF Aldridge, Bargnani, Thomas, Roy, or Morrison is available at #4, who would you take?
I would take him if all it would cost is Juwon. I know I know, he's a headcase, but we're not really in a position to be picky when it comes to acquiring talent to rebuild this team, and Miles can be something special defensively. You gotta risk it to be great. P.S. Please stay away from Tyrus Thomas. That guy has bust written all over him.
Givony just posted this on his forum: http://www.draftexpress.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1717 there was an initial proposal, which was rejected. The new one looks something like: #4+Miles for #8+Howard. Portland dumps the biggest cancer on their team and gets their backup power forward. Also saves about 12-13 million on the swap which makes Portland a little more attractive to sell. Portland trades down thinking Rudy Gay will be there, which as of right now is a legit possibility.
