    Why doesn't the US media care as much?

    Because outside of the Houston Rocket fanbase, Yao's recuperation is probably not really that big of a deal.

    Die-hard Rox fans in Houston and China are probably the only ones that really care.

    This isn't "big" news anyways. Things are going a little better than expected but that about it. Hardly - Sportscenter material.

    Also - the interview did take place in China. Yao is bigger news there. Why would some US paper send a journalist halfway across the globe to interview Dave Macha?

    If I was going to make up a story I would think of something sexier than a Dave Macha interview.
