Dallas got Screwed

I did not even watch last night's game. Won't watch another NBA game unless it features the Rockets from on.

 

Yeah, playing against a team that is better than you loses championships. Weird, eh?

 

I don't think they got screwed, they got as many bad calls as the Heat did in the series. Don't even get me started on last years Rockets playoffs. Regardless, I love it and the fact that we are blessed with these fine photos.....

Yep....the refs did the a FAVOR by not calling the foul BEFORE the shot. They didnt have any timeouts so it would have been over neways.

 

I dont think got dallas got screwed at all...the problem with the mavs is that their defense gets exposed with a superstar on the opposing team (especially a perimiter one)...for example last year Tmac tore them up and this years playoff run by the mavs they didn have to face anybody like kobe or tmac or lebron until they got to teh finals and met Dwade, but they did have a superstar in Duncan and what happened there? Duncan totally dominated the series and it went down to game 7 in that series...Dallas just cant handle superstars...their man to man defense or overall defense just wont allow them to.

 

This is good for the league. You can't win an NBA championship by flopping too much and complaining a lot...

What were Dallas screwed about? They are a difficient team without a legit force in the middle. You cant win a Championship by taking jump shots. There will be off nights. IMO, they got lucky already to pass the spurs. Miami is just too much for them to handle. I said it in another thread heat wins in 6 before this final and I was right. Teams like Dallas and Suns need to be extremely lucky to win a 7 game series against teams with inside force. Big man ball wins once again.

 

Dirk, a jump shooter, had more free throws than MJ (in his early years when he attacked the basket) in the playoffs before game 5 even started.

 

1. If Wade didn't get fouled by Dirk, he was fouled by the other Mavs trying to stop him.

2. Refs miss calls for each and every team. Mav fans think their team is treated unfairly because they whine about it the most.

3. The game is not won based on 1 or 2 calls. It's won based on who plays better for 48 minutes.

End of story.

 

Dallas lost this series for one reason and one reason alone.

Wade slightly outplayed Dirk.

That's it. No more no less. Had Dirk hit a few free throws, or wade missed on of those spectacular shots in any of the close games....and Wade not had the quickness that made him such a dangerous weapon - Dallas wins this series.

There's no inside presence, or collapse of defense...no refs screwing anyone, and no you can't win a championship with just hitting jump shots (see 96-98 Bulls).

So there ya go. tip your hat off to wade - He's the first of this era to Acheive NBA greatness.

 

hmmm ... and i always thought that impeding the offensive players progress was called Defense.

 

I live in Dallas. Cuban was on a local radio station today arguing that the NBA didn't rig the finals because they hate him. It was pretty strange listening to him actually defend the league. He was mentioning if the Refs wanted to screw the Mavs then why did they call that foul on Ginobli in game 7? Then he went on to ask why did Dallas get all those calls in the Spurs series in games 3 and 4, especially the foul on Bowen at the end of one of those games. I was wondering if this was the same guy who was whining and complaining this whole series.

I am not sure if we should be celebrating Miami's victory- frankly it was not a hands down victory- I am not taking anything away from DWade- the guy is just unbelievable- but some of the foul shots he got were just ridiculous.Come on 20-25 foul shots in a finals match up! That basically decided the 2 crucial games- 3 and 5 ( and 5 was without stackhouse)

Come on these are the finals- they should not be decided on foul shots.

I counted atleast 2 of Alonzo's block shots which would be clear goal tending- that makes a big differnce in the mometum of a game.

The biggest joke of the night was when Shaq goes on TV and says that he won this for Zo and Gp- get real shaq your ass was saved by D wade this time!

I would not be laughing if it was Miami Vs Rockets and Dwade and ZO got away with murder on some of the calls- they were not even close.

 

Everything changes when a team plays the Rockets. But this time that wasnt the case and Dallas got theirs.

 

The refs were horrible in this series. I hate Dallas, but the refs actions in the series are indicative of the problems that Yao faces.

 

I hated both teams, but I can't remember the last time I saw a player get as many calls as Wade. He's a great player, but even breathing on him seemed to result in a whistle. The foul called on Dirk with 1.9 seconds left was ridiculous. You just don't decide the game on a ticky tack foul call. It's a no call.

 

I am a Rockets fans, so I have no allegiance to either team. Dallas, has no one to blame but THEMSELVES for losing this Series. They had a 2-0 lead in the series, they were up by 13 in game 3, THEY missed key free throws in game 3 and 5, THEY shot jumpshots late in games and did not attack the basket, THERE best player, in half of the games didn't play like it, THEY doubled the wrong player (AGING SHAQ and not WADE every possession), and finally, outside of Detroit the team with the BEST player usually wins. WADE attacked the basket, watch old Bulls games, if a player attacks they get CALLS. Nowitzki did not dominate WADE did case closed.
