Do you actually think that the Rockets will make ANY good trade(s) to improve their team? Besides getting Mike James (maybe IF even THAT...) I don't see them doing anything else... Every year by year, we see the same ol' team... who has the same end result... Its time for some change, outside of T-Mac and Yao... None of the other guys outside of the two have any fire in their belly... I am not trying to hate as I have been a Rockets Fan since age 5, but seriously they need to make some moves and not be so dang stiff about doing so!

Heck, I've seen both the Texans and the Astros COMBINED do more player transactions than the Rockets!!! Get on it Morey and JVG!!! Start creating an NBA Championship-based team, not a team (current team) that is just there to always do poorly in the regular season and the playoffs!

Now if we had the team that was similar to 94'-95' Glory Days, then I wouldn't even be talking like this... We Need Hakeem Olajuwon to replace Patrick Ewing as an assistant coach... We adopted a New York-based team, but if you remembered what happened in the 94 NBA Finals, we BEAT the Knicks with JVG as coach 4 games to 3... they choked... besides, I don't remember of a knick team that has actually won more than any of the Rockets teams!

In close, the Rockets Staff and Organization need to go to www.clutchfans.com fan forum and see what WE the FANS want to see happen! Because, face it JVG if you had no fans, there would be no Houston Rockets Organization... Wake up and get at it!

Uhh...the Rockets have usually one of the most active front offices in the NBA.

I believe if you compared last year's team to the team the year before, you'll find that we had several new players. There is a grand total of 1 player from Van Gundy's first team. I think the Rockets do shuffle players around a lot.

Well.. Baseball and Football requires more people on teams..

But I do understand where you are trying to go.. I believe the Rockets will get their job done before the season starts.

Isn't Purpura regarded as one of the biggest inactive pacifists in all of baseball?

Pat Riley was their coach at the time.

I doubt we move up in this draft but I think we could easily make a trade down this year. The two teams that are possibilities are the Hornets and Magic. Since we play in the same division, I doubt the Hornets would give us a chance to draft 2 studs. That leaves us with the Magic, as is being reported.

Since JVG has made it clear he wants size AND good shooting ability I think we would be trying to get Hedo Turkoglu from Orlando. At 6'10" 230 he still plays more like a SF but has the size to defend the 4. I think any trade we have with the Magic we are going to get Fran Vasquez, partly because they don't want him and because he has the potential to be a nice player for the Rockets in the future.

So how about a trade of....
    Stromile Swift + #8 pick + 2007 2nd Round Pick
    for
Hedo Turkoglu + Fran Vazquez + #11 pick.

Sure they would if it meant the Hornets were getting their guy with the pick acquired from us....

Didn't Van Gundy specify slashing rather than shooting as the scoring capability he desired?

I like your deal okay. We would be a much better team with Turk, Vazquez and Carney/Brewer/Redick than we would with Swift, Carney/Brewer/Redick and a 2007 2nd round pick.

I don't know if the Magic would do it though...

I actually think that the Rockets have had a very active front office in recent years. The problem has been that their moves haven’t paid off (best example is trading 3 picks for E. Griffin and although not nearly as bad the James for Alston trade). They have made some trades that clearly helped the team as well...trading for Wesley, Barry, and James last year.

Let’s not forget the biggest trade that gave this team its two cornerstones...the T-Mac trade.

Although this front office has not had the same success as those of the Pistons, Mavs, or Spurs when it comes to making trades, signing free agents, or even the draft ATLEAST they are still active and hopefully sooner or later they will get it right. I hope the Morey has something to do with that.

Does anybody have the time to do a Ben Franklin "T" thing? On one side list all the acquisitions and on the other list everyone and everything we gave up.

I'm amazed at how Dallas churns through top-drawer talent and remains competitive.

Yes they do. This is has been going on for the past 10 years now and we all know how well that's worked out for them (5 of the past 7 years in NBA lottoland). Do I believe that this will change with Lindsay & Dawson making trades? No I don't.

I wouldn't say the Knicks choked. Maybe Starks shooting as badly as he did in Game 7 was close...but he was always capable of having a game like that...just bad timing.

Rockets simply havent been in very good position to make strong trades lately. We bit the bullet and traded 3 starters for T-Mac. The trade payed off but it left our bench thin. I think we have done well with our limited resources. Howard for example is almost untradeable. Other than that we are almost as active as the Yankees, Lakers, Cowboys, Etc... There has been Drexler, Griffen, Barkley,S. Anderson, Posey, Willis, Francis, Pippen, Rice, etc... Every two years its something big! And who would guessed aquisitions like Griffen, Pippen, or D. Anderson would flop.
