In 1995: A team from Texas wore red to the finals, a Florida team wore blue.
In 2006: A Florida team is wearing red to the finals, a Texas team wears blue.

In 1995: The Texas team was from the southern part of their state, the Florida team was farther north in theirs.
In 2006: The Florida team is from the more southern part of their state, the Texas team farther north.

In 1995: A dominant center from Texas was approaching the latter part of his career, and an emerging star from the Florida team was just getting real respect on the national scene.
In 2006: A dominant center from the Florida team is approaching the latter part of his career, and the star of the Texas team is really gaining some national respect.

In 1995: The "prototype for years of success" was the team from Florida, and the classic "respect for how the game's played" team was from Texas.
In 2006: The "team built for years of success" is from Texas, while the team from Florida has the more "traditional" approach with a "real center."

In 1995: The team led by a strong big man with experience, and a great wing man with heart and hunger, came from (some said) nowhere to make a push back to the finals, while the team no one really counted a lock, full of role players, yet assembled on purpose, was the opponent after beating their conference's favorite.
In 2006: The team that was assembled on purpose around a few main guys, with several role players, is somehow in the finals after beating the conference's favorite, but their opponent has a strong big man with experience, and a phenomenal wing man with heart and hunger.

In 1995: I lived (basically) in the southern city of Texas afore mentioned, and had most recently visited the southern most city afore mentioned in Florida.
In 2006: I live (basically) in the northern city of Texas, and have most recently visited the the northern most city in Florida afore mentioned.

And since a lot of these things already "trend" toward a different result as far as which state will claim a title this year...

I still predict RED team in 6 or less. :D

Did anyone else think Nick Anderson when Wade missed those 2 free throws, either one of which would have iced the game?

Just many instances of how the Mavs are not a championship caliber team on par with our Rockets of Old. We beat a Pat Riley Coached team and one from Florida with Shaq on it. They had an opportunity to do both and blew it. I love going to work now (in Dallas).
