yeah, i was hearing that this morning. but heard that they expected it to move west this morning or early this afternoon. then it would reverse its flow from clockwise to counter-clockwise, and those storms would move right back over us again, perhaps. i also heard the allison comparisons. do you know if it's started moving that direction?? or whether they think it will at this point?
wow...thanks for the update. so it's back on tonight. anyone else work somewhere they're letting you off early? i'd like to know for employees here.
no. and i just saw a report where billengsley said it's definitely moving west, but he has no idea if houston will actually get more rain out of it. we'll see. but if it's to happen, it will be tonight. hopefully we'll get a good period of drainage before it starts up again.
http://www.click2weather.com/weather/9389359/detail.html Says we're ok until after 7pm. The flood warnings were issued up to 7am tomorrow. They said if it were out over the water that it might. It has something to do with the low not coming all the way down to ground level on land.
They're predicting 2 to 4 inches more tonight. If the thunderstorms get really bad, they're saying there could be another 6 to 8 inches in areas.
it stopped for a two hours or so. and now its raining again. it's not torrential down pour, but, it's raining.
where? what part of town? not raining on the west side. hasn't been for about 4 hours or so now. it's cloudy, but the sun is peeking through.
I'm in the Sugar Land area and woke up a round nine. I wouldn't have even realized there was a problem in Houston if I hadn't seen this thread. I haven't seen any hard rain or heard any thunder today. It's sunny now.
That was me during Allison. I knew it was raining, but I didn't have any flooding in my part of town. I even drove somewhere and came back home. Then, I got a cryptic call from my mom asking if I was okay. Uhh, sure, why? I don't think it was until the next day that I heard about the freeways flooded up to the overpasses, UH basements flooded, people being rescued off of rooftops, and all that.
are you stalking me? kidding. it was light rain. but it stopped a while back. I think the sun being out creating moisture in the air caused it to rain some more. Where the hell is weatherman Jeff at?
I was the same way. It's rare enough where I live for the streets to stay flooded for more than an hour, and no one I know of has had water anywhere close to getting up to the homes. We haven't had water get higher than about a foot and a half into our yard in the 20 years we've lived here. *arkoe knocks on wood. We've been extremely lucky.
we're getting absolutely poured on right now...and it's not showing up on radar on channel 2's site at all: http://www.click2weather.com/wxmap/1807601/detail.html
Thats why you should stick with being an attorney, you should have warned us but you failed us all as the meteorologist of this board.
