He has a 9'5" inch standing reach. I know the guy has been moving up the charts but is it really possible that he could go in the top 5? Even top 10 sounds like a bit of a stretch to me with this guy.

In that article they are even talking about Saer Sene challanging O'Bryant as the first center drafted.

If O'Bryant moves into the top 7 along with Sheldon Williams does that make our pick more valuable to a team like Orlando because of the talent that will be their or less valuable because their guy is no more likely to be available at the 11 spot.

LOL, O'Bryant. If he gets in the top 7........ ......some GM should lose their job. He shouldn't even be top 15.

It makes the pick more valuable to us.

Exactly. I'd much, much rather just take a guy like Gay or Roy or Thomas instead of moving down and giving it to Orlando for a guy that isn't coming over this year (Vasquez), or a couple of second rounders. And beside the fact that we can't do sign and trades during the draft, Stevenson doesn't really excite me either.

I would be freaking thrilled if O'Bryant goes to Toronto, for example. That would throw the draft into complete chaos.

We really should stand pat at #8 until we get to the draft. And try to buy Seattle's #10 pick while we're at it. If we play our cards right, we could be bringing in a tandem along the lines of Roy and Brewer come draft night.

I also hate the idea of trading down with Orlando before we even see what we can get on draft day. Making a move with Orlando with Vazquez as the centerpiece really does us no good since we desperately need immediate help and he wouldn't even be on the roster next year. Not to mention we would be putting in all that risk and work for a guy who could very well be the next Maciej Lampe.

As for the topic of the thread: let's pray it happens! This draft is getting to be absolutely re-*******-diculous anymore. No clear cut #1 pick. You can make a case justifying roughly eight different players as being worthy of the #1 pick. GM's throwing up smoke screens left and right. Various results coming in from different individual workouts. Nothing known for sure as a result so many teams looking to sell and practically nobody looking to buy as a result of the uncertainty.

This is going to be one VERY exciting and interesting draft to watch. Honestly, we could end up with pretty much anybody falling to us at #8. Until that actually happens we need to stand pat and worry about possibly trading down later on.

Exactly. Since we'd be holding the higher pick, we can make any trade down deals on draft day, when we see who is avaliable at our pick. With so much uncertainty, a wait and see approach is definitely the best thing we can do.

O'Bryant tested out as one of the worst athletes in the draft at the combines. I don't think that will help him move into the top 5 of this draft.

Hey can you post the numbers. I'm dying to see what the combine results were. We can just keep it between ourselves. ;)

    Patrick O'Bryant is the #1 pick!!!! :D

Personally I would not be surprised if he went in the top ten.

In several other threads for some weeks now I have been predicting that O'Bryant would be selected in the Top Seven because this draft is not based on taking the best available player (BAP) but rather on filling need. O'Bryant is the only true center with considerable upside.

If Toronto had O'Bryant in the middle with Bosh as PF and Villanueva as SF, they would have a formidable frontcourt. Minnesota needs a center. Boston needs a center. O'Bryant's rise is not that surprising.

I think Golden St. will take a flier on him at #9. If he made it higher than that, Toronto & Portland would be the most likely stops.

o'bryant's already conceded that he thinks of himself as a project. i think he has a chance of being in the lottery but no chance of getting drafted in the top five.

    this is really interesting.

bargnani, thomas, and aldridge have no chance of slipping because ainge would snatch them up.

gay and morrison would be snatched up by the wolves if either fall that far.

i think roy is the only one that has a chance of falling, and i REALLY hope he does.
