Hey team, my name is Paul... I am new, but someone on here HAS to know something. ANY CHANCE CALVIN COMES BACK? He embodies everything cool about the Rockets! He made watching those games SO MUCH FUN! He's up there as the funnest color guy in the NBA. Not to mention those crazy pimp suits! I'm in Utah and he made League pass worth the 200$ bucks. Where is he these days? Would he come back? Has it been enough time since the legal troubles? Here's to bringing back Calvin!
i don't think calvin will ever be back but i'd say most people around here miss him. i'll watch the rockets even with clyde drexler doing pbp and cynthia cooper on color but calvin sure does help with the slow times.
The year we got t-mac I was very anxious to see how excited Murph would be and with the great year we ended up having (minus game 7 blow-out) it would have been a much better season if Murph could've been there with us. He was more than just a color guy, he would give the team or players some pointers on what he saw developing during the game, and found a good balance between off-topicness and pure X's and O's talk. I wish I would have recorded the games in the steve francis era with calvin and his antics. I will never forget the game vs NYK when Glen Rice was going off hitting a bunch a 3s and Calvin couldn't retain himself and yelled "SOMEBODY DONE PISSED HIM OFF!!!!" and worrell was in silence a good 7 seconds and i think he said "...Calvin...." and Calvin was like "I'm sorry Bill I just got a little excited". I was laughing a good 5-10 minutes. I wanted to hear what Calvin brought to the game just as much as what the team did. I don't know if I would have survived the Francis Era as well as I did without Calvin Murphy.
Great color commentary. Great colored suits. I've started to accept the fact that he won't be back. At least not in the same capacity. Radio talk show, maybe?

To me Calvin made the rocket player feel like family and installed a small since of tradition with them...before every tip off the rocket players would dab up Calvin before the jump ball. He really cared about the rockets as players and as people and made watching the games fun.
its a freaking disgrace that calvin murphy is not part of the organization because some rich idiot who bought the team and decided to mess with its uniforms.. then he just disregards the people who built this place calvin rudy dream just disgraceful. fire les.
i'd rather mute the tv and listen to gene and jim. they are awesome, whereas worrell and bullard suck.

Calvin made me want to keep watching the game even when we were getting blown out... & I miss him! BRING BACK MURPHY!
