This is fun to watch. Roger is mowing down. Screw Round Rock -- bring him right up.

Roger is gassed, he did run out about the 7th inning last year.....I hope he gets through this and sits...no need to push it for CC.

Adrenaline will help him out a little more when he gets to the big leagues... but high pitch counts and only 6-7 IP is the sacrafice you gotta make for the high number of K's, and microscopic ERA.

    Final line for the night: 6IP, 2H, 11K's... 0ER, 0BB. He's just about there.

I know it is double A, but that was fantastic. What a great day to an Astros fan. The big club whoops up, the Rocket takes care of business and fianlly getting to watch Anderson, Zobrist, and Pence.

No doubt, but hopefully he can add 1 or 2 mph to the fastball in the next couple of weeks...

Once again... adrenaline will take over when he really lets the ball fly in the big leagues. However, Roger doesn't have to throw 95 anymore to be successful... its his pin-point control, and splitter, that keeps hitters off-balance.

True - but 93-94 is better than 91-92......

Did anyone else catch Pence throw the runner out at second sitting down?

Strikeouts are fascist. He needs to throw some ground balls, they're more democratic.

I just got back from the game. As you'll read, Roger was a little off his game in the first inning, although it seemed like he was being squeezed a bit by the ump. In fact, the manager for the Express got tossed in the bottom of the 1st for arguing balls and strikes. Regardless, Roger settled down and pitched much better the rest of the way before leaving in the 6th.

All in all, a good showing. It was a tremendous crowd with a nice mix of local celebs and plenty of others who typically aren't at the Express games. But, it was really built up big by the team and the media around here, and it was nice to see things go smoothly in all regards.
