It's time for me to shot myself. But the scary part is I even lost two games when I didnt have experimental rosters. Can I get the boxscores from the last 3 games too? I think I will trade away my whole team. Can I be the hawks? [IMG] j/k

Heath, not to do a little dance on your grave or anything, BUT COME ON MAN!!!

why the *** did you have Howard on the bench. he was a serious producer for me, and a fine starter. way better than Marion, and better than Hill by lightyears.

you gotta think. this in NOT THE REAL NBA. this is not even based on this years stats. sure Cat tried to make these guys better, but Howard is good and consistant. his experience also makes your team better.

it deos suprise me that you lost, but I suppose you deserve it [IMG]
especially the way you talked crap after the draft [IMG]

also, WOW!!! GO SPURS!!, nice come from behind victury. and against the #3 team in the league. I am definately worried that I gottas play you. you match up VERY well against me.

welll lets see how the first 2 games go. woo hoo 3 game sweep!!

    VOR...

Not as clear as you might think about Howard... he won 6th man of the year off the bench, and as a starter Hill was averaging 13/9 and Marion 12/8...

Yes cat, I know the 6 man thing, but if you look at his playoff stats he obviously needed more scoring. the game he won Ivy went off for 40++ you cant count on that. for his team to suceed he needs a more balanced scoring attack.

this is where I would point out the Jazz, but with their elimination i will point out the Blazers. lots of minor contributors and more than 1 scorer. Howard averages more than Hill Lynch, and Marion all did during the reg-season. I say start him and watch the wins pile up.

My team is quite balanced. sure my talent is better, but it is more balanced. the teams that "upset" te Faves also were more balanced.

as far as that fortson trade, YES, I SCREWED YOU. no offence, but I needed a center. I deffinately gave you 2 goos players. but without a center I was D E A D. actually since you had Mutumbo, it wasnt a big loss to you. I suppose you could have Fortson stert at PF, get extra scoring+reb out of that position and put marion and Hill as SF/PF allong with your Mckie and I think you had geiger.
you are already GOLD at SG, and probably soft at point, but i didnt help you there too much either. mind you, with your draft pick I got Miles who was a starter for me.

Hindsight is 20-20 I bet if you didnt mess around this would be be mute [IMG] well i look forward to what you will do next year. you definately have good building blocks. also there is NO way my team can stay this strong.

MY pre pre season pick for top team is the dude who got KG in the trade. the griz i think. high pick, SAR, KG, dickerson, Bibby... DAMN!!!!!!!!!!

In this series I started Howard for 1 game.

    His stats: 31 mins 12pts 4 rebs
Marions stats in the same game: 30 mins 11pts 4 rebs. Yes I clearly see Howard doing way better than Marion. (Marion also played out of position for that same game) Howard also got starters minutes in the last game (29) He did do good that game - but both game where he got major minutes was losses.

When it comes down to starting Howard over Hill - maybe I should have done that. But I did that for plenty of games in the regular season and I liked Hills production more. What I also can see from the last two games is that Hill only got 24 and 26 minutes starting and I think if he had gone for his normal minutes I would have won. I dont know why he played so few minutes, but maybe it was down to fouls or minor injury or something like that. In these games Howard got good minutes (he played good minutes in all 5 matches) but he did not produce **** in game 4 - (and they where all losses) 8 pts and 3 rebs in 21 mins, while starter Marion got 17 points and 11 rebs in 32 mins.

Complete stats of Howard/Marion in the series.

    Marion: 149 mins 64 pts 37 rebs
    Howard: 127 mins 56 pts 24 rebs

They are somewhat simular in scoring and this they have proved throughout the season too, but Marion pulls down more rebounds. What you also have to consider is Marion had 1 game out of position for my boneheaded experiment and still produced as good as Howard. And in the end - Hill's line:

    Hill: 145 mins 53pts 38rebs
He's not scoring as much as Howard (I know) but when I started Howard in Hills position he produced less than when he came of the bench for Marion. Hill also provides much more rebounding. (you could say... but you needed more points - I can counter with I need to not give up so many points.

Would I have won the series with Howard at Hills position - I might have, but It is anybodys guess. I think I should have done it with Hill. (The last 4 games had a simular roster to what swept them in the regular season). Would I have won If I hadn't pulled my stupid experiment - I think so (Not sure, but lose 3 games with a roster that swept them in the reg. season - Think my chances would've been good)

What went wrong apart from my experiment? I guess several players did slow down, but i blame my guards more than my forwards. 1 thing for sure - I cant blame Mutombo - He did excellent.
