I bet nobody hits .400 as well. But if SOMEBODY does it...I say Ichiro...he's at .350 currently.

Yea i doubt it'll ever happen again.

Although something to watch, Joe Mauer, the best catcher no one has ever heard of, is hitting around .370

Here's a pretty insane stat, in 727 steal attempts, Honus Wagner was caught 5 times. That's a success rate of 99.3%.

If you look at various stat sites, it only shows one year where the "caught stealing" category is even listed with a value. That was near the end of his career when he was caught 15 times. I suspect he was caught many times. Here is an example of a site:

56 games would probably get the most buzz, but I think a 30 game winner would be the most impressive to me.

Basically you have to stay injury-free, be very good - every single start, and have your offense come to play every game. Last year the leader in the NL only started thirty-five games. So you've got only five games, maybe six if you press, that can get screwed up - by you, injury, or the offense.

As for Cy Young, to me he has too many wins from when the mound was only about fifty feet away, or in an expansion level AL. Give me Walter Johnson's 417 as the modern record.

I thought that was a little unbelieveable. Now I know why.

he has about 90 wins right now, i think. i just can't see him pitching that long. i don't think he wants to.

    i'd love that, though!!!
