an all star for a guy who can't play consistently for 10 minutes and an undersized combo guard. I know Colangelo left but I'm sure D'Antoni isn't that stupid.
You must not have been around here long. Phoenix was trying to outbid the Rockets for McGrady (from orlando) and was offering Marion, Joe Johnson, & draft picks for him. You underestimate the value of McGrady.
Lol Nash, T-Mac, and Amare on one team would be a lock for the Finals for consecutive years. That being said, I like T-Mac in Houston, if Nash wants to come play with T-Mac and Yaom that would be even better.
will t-mac will ever be able to play a full season without being injured ? we cant be sure ... so yes, tmac is a better player than marion when healthy, but in the situation he is right now with all the questions about his back, i dont think phoenix would want him for marion ...
Since then, McGrady has been exposed as injury-prone, lowering his trade value, while Nash has made Marion an MVP candidate, raising his trade value. I don't think the suns would do Marion for T-Mac straight up, to be honest. T-Mac's current trade value is a lot lower than it was in 2004, and not as high as someon this board make it to be.
I don't understand why this thread persists. Is Marion even rumored to be traded? Or is this just some left-field trade scenario? Marion is probably one of the most secure guys in the league right now. He epitomizes that team. If we are gonna do random trade scenarios, lets at least bring a shred of reality to the table. Only way Suns trade Marion is if it is a no-brainer for them. Nothing we have, including TMac given his health, is a no-brainer except Yao. Even Yao doesn't fit their game plan so maybe even he isn't a no-brainer. I know it gets boring during the summer but the threads here recently are really the worst I've seen.
so its truly come to this... this summer the rox need to determine their team philosophy and choose players that fit there. otherwise it will be another season of hodge-podge personnel moves that smack of being knee-jerk. are we a defensive team? are we a half-court team that can occasionally push the tempo? or are we going to become a hybrid team that incorporates athletes into low-post set plays and can run the break? the answers to these questions will determine who we look at and what we look like before the beginning of next season. in the backdrop of this is the hush-hush For Sale sign above the toyota center, the health and longevity of the mcgrady-ming nucleus and whether or not JVG is a lame-duck coach or not. im now off to down a bottle of maalox
