OK, I don't usually pimp my band on this site, but this is a little different.

On June 3rd, the Texans are having an 'Open House' for their season ticket holders at Reliant Stadium. You've probably already gotten your tickets in the mail.

One of the many activities you can participate in is voting on a "battle of the bands" on the stadium floor. 3 bands were invited to audition to be the official house band for all the home games next year by playing a 30 minute set. The season ticket holders will vote on which band they want to be their 'house band' for 2006.

This is where you come in.

As you might have guessed, one of those 3 bands, Infinite Groove, just happens to be the band I play in. :) So please help a fellow Clutch bbs'er out by voting for Infinite Groove on June 3rd.

We want to be your official Texans Budweiser Plaza House Band!

    You got it.

Is this in addition to the current band (trumpets, trombone, etc...)? Will you guys be playing during the game any?

He's not as good on the french horn as he is the jazz flute. :)

I alternate between the skin flute and the pork whistle.

I think you're referring to the Pep Band? The guys that cruise the tailgate parties. This would be different. Whoever wins will play in the Budweiser Plaza before and after the games. The Pep Band is more like a marching band.

So, what exactly is it that goes on at those open houses? A buddy of mine is selling me his season tickets and he gave me his passes to this thing.

I'll vote for your band, Ima. That would be a great opportunity for you guys!

What time did you guys go on? We got there around 11, did the tour and walked out onto the "field". There was a band playing, but no indication who it was. They had a hot lead singer, though.

It was pretty cool to walk through the cafeteria, training room, locker room and weight room. No way did I want to bother with autographs. The best was Cook leaving his playbook out for everyone to see. We did think about stealing Weigart's shirt, then asking him to sign it to see if he noticed.

    We didn't though. :)

What did the drummer do when all the bread was eaten during dinner?

He got the customers more bread, of course...

I was pretty impressed with the facilities myself. I liked the full-size Madden machine in the lounge. :D

I was pretty nieve to think that I would come away from there with a lot of autographs. Those lines were unbelieveable.

I thought all 3 of the bands were pretty good. I'd still vote for drummer's band...but which one was it?

See my sig. We were the middle band with the black singer.

The sound company was TOTALLY UNPREPARED for a 9-piece band, even though we sent him our 'specs' weeks ago. They were utterly clueless.

Voting is open for everyone, not just season ticket holders. Kind of odd that you can vote even if you weren't there, but whatever.

While we were loading out, I saw the players walking across the turf-less field. Since they weren't wearing their jersies, I only recognized a few of them. One of them was Mario. I pointed at him and said "Mario, welcome to Houston." He smiled, waved and said thanks. :)

That is a very large man...
