imple Question. I find that I never watch it anymore. All I watch is espn news. Their ticker is very informative and they usually get through the entire sports day in about thirty minutes, depending on the season and the day. Football days are usually loaded on every sports station. I have just totally been turned off to sports center. the personalities and jokes have gotten in the way of the show. You never know where the show is going so you don't know how much time its going to take to get to the story you want to see. And with the internet and the other 100 espn sports channels it becoming useless i/mo.
rarely, and when i do it isn't but more than a couple of minutes. Sportscenter used to be top-notch, and i'd watch it religiously (everyday before school, @ 5 after school and then @ 10 that night), but the quality has gone done incredibly. and yes, the anchors pretty much suck. but i still watch some other programming when i have the chance.
Yes, in the mornings getting ready for work, split with "Saved by the Bell" re-runs. Same amount of entertainment.
no. not at all. i watch ESPNNews. sometimes i turn on Mike & Mike in the morning. in college, i watched sportscenter religiously. it's dead now. or maybe i just grew up.
my espn diet is around the horn and pardon the interruption. nothing more, nothing less. sportscenter SUCKS
ESPN news all the way for me. Until they realize that there are only a handful of teams in each league and they're on one of the two coasts.
i thought the samething. I also thought asking the question everyone has watched on a regular basis at some point. I think its a combo of things, for guys our age, growing up, quality especially compared to dan patrick, oblerman, and kilborn, and then just other options, especially the internet.
I never really liked sportscenter, it always seemed like sports news for people with ADD the way they jumped from sport to sport. If I want to see basketball highlights I don't want it to be mixed in with clips from baseball, hockey, football or any other sport. I guess that's their way of making sure people watch the whole show instead of just one segment. For basketball I watch NBATV and for most other sports I stick with the internet.
I do, but not as much as I use too...Its still informative, but I don't have time to watch tv as I use too...
I used to watch Sportscenter religiously but that was before the days of the great Lebron James. Ever since he has come up sportscenter has sucked. The only time I watch ESPN these days is if there is some live game. For my news I watch The Southwest Sports report and use the internet. I dont need to watch sportscenter because I dont give a **** about Lebron James/ Lakers/Yankees/Bonds. Besides the anchors suck these days.
I really only follow Houston teams, so why would I want to watch Sportscenter? I can find better than the 20 second blurb that they're going to give on whichever team was playing on the internet, and if I try hard enough I can probably even find highlights on the net. The only way I'll watch Sportscenter is if something happens at another game that I really want to see, i.e. the Artest brawl. And even then I'll record it and fast forward to the part I want to watch.
a couple years ago when the first fifteen minutes(zero exagerration) of sportscenter was dedicated to a yankee lineup change 10 games into the season, i knew that sportscenter was dead.
IMHO, Sportscenter has killed itself in the same vein of MTV. WAY too many filler pieces, and the invention of the weekly heart-tug story may have been the worst idea of all-time. In the mornings, it's Mike & Mike. Haven't flipped to SC in at least two years. Evan
