cool. I am wagering that the hits 400 this year. good pick. ------------------ The next time I have meat and mashed potatoes, I think I'll put a very large blob of potatoes on my plate with just a little piece of meat. And if someone asks me why i didn't get more meat, ill just say, "Oh, you mean this?" and pull out a big piece of meat from inside the blob of potatoes, where ive hidden it. Good magic trick, huh?
thanx..ss are in short supply and after him and arod it tails off so i grabbed him..but i got furcal as my backup too see heres my team c-mike lieberthal 1b-edgar martinez 2nd-jose vidro ss-nomar,rafael furcal 3rd-scott rolen, eric chavez of-johnny damon, magglio ordonez, cliff floyd sp-tim hudson, barry zito, freddy garcia, russ ortiz, wade miller rp-robb nen and troy percival so far ------------------ How Sweet It Is! Looking good dvauthrin, The picks I like most are 1b-edgar martinez - Great hitter who is very consistent. You have no worries about him 2nd-jose vidro- Appears to be the real deal. Got off to a hot start last year and it never ended. Solid selection for when you drafted him. ss-nomar - What more do you need to say. He's nomar. Luckily I have A-rod. magglio ordonez - Lots of categories filled, including steals. freddy garcia - Always gets wins. Don't ask me how, but he wins. ------------------ humble, but hungry.
Yeah, I was gonna take Vidro right after you, DV! Wade Miller could be a good pitcher this year, but I'm shying away from any pitcher (except Wagner) who pitches half his games in Ten-Run field. Enron can't be good for fantasy point pitchers. ------------------ Behad Sergeant at Arms of the Clutch BBS

Hurry up SSG, my sleeper pick of the draft is coming up next, after your 2 picks. I thought I would grab him now before someone else does. ------------------ "Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored."- (Aldous Huxley)
i took sandy alomar to backup lieberthal ------------------ How Sweet It Is! How Sweet It Is! Gene Peterson on the rockets winning the 1995 championship over the Orlando Magic
darn all of yall takin backup catchers!!!!!!!!!!!!! someone want to trade me a catcher????? rob just took ramon hernandez so im pretty much screwed if anyone gots a backup catcher (SSG, this means u!!!!) that they want to trade....ill be waiting! ------------------
HAHAHHAHA. Even on Auto-Mode I'm kickin' your ass. LOL. Don't worry about not have 2 awesome catchers. IF you have 1 good one then you'll be set. Also, with those stupid game limits, if you have 2 regular catchers then your games will be eaten up by the middle of August. Right on the money Rob. No way SSG can play both catchers all the way through the season (unless one of them gets hurt for an extended period of time) The only reason he drafted them in the first 2 rounds was to use one as trade bait IMO. ------------------ "Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored."- (Aldous Huxley)
Sure he can. He can just play one of them at the flex infield spot. By keeping both catchers, he is indirectly hurting every other team (well.. except mine -- I have Kendall ) by forcing you all to play a crappy player at the catcher spot. ------------------ My dream job is to be a Houston Rockets towel boy.
yeah, but im just glad i got a good one too.in lieberthal ------------------ How Sweet It Is! How Sweet It Is! Gene Peterson on the rockets winning the 1995 championship over the Orlando Magic
He is weak at every other position. So in reality, he only hurt himself by drafting 2 catchers in the first 2 rounds. When your catchers are your best point producers, you are in trouble. He has Benitez, Glavine and Sosa and a lot of question marks. ------------------ "Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored."- (Aldous Huxley)
I think a good catcher is worth more than a good 1B, 2B, 3B, SS or OF, else I'd never have drafted Kendall in the second round. If you have a crappy 2B, etc.., you can usually find a half-decent prospect on the waiver wire. If you have a crappy catcher, though, the talent pool is so shallow that you'll probably be stuck with some useless punk. I consider this to be a smart, wily and a little bit risky move on SSG's part. If I were him, I wouldn't trade Ivan or Piazza unless I was getting substantially more in return. (ie Piazza for Glaus? No way! Piazza for Glaus and Mussina? Sure. Of course, this is all just my opinion. ------------------ My dream job is to be a Houston Rockets towel boy. I thought you had two catchers playing for you at one time?I was pissed because I didnt put 3 catchers on my list! Damn, you fadeaway,Burnitz was my last Outfielder,I just went ahead and took Grieve and my 1st SS in Bordick. What about my catcher situation? (M.Melusky,D.Fletcher) It looks like SS and C is the most limited positions!!! ------------------ If I had only 1 wish it would be that I had a big enough @ss the whole world could kiss-Eminem
You can if you want to, but catchers have the same # of game limits as any other position. They allow you to start two because often, catchers tend to get injured, so you might have trouble utilizing all your games at Catcher if you can only start one. Bleh.. hope that made sense. ------------------ My dream job is to be a Houston Rockets towel boy.
So even though you have two Catcher positions you still count it as one position in your games played? Nevermind,I understand now!!! Thanks,Fadeaway! ------------------ If I had only 1 wish it would be that I had a big enough @ss the whole world could kiss-Eminem [This message has been edited by Ren D (edited March 14, 2001).]
Concerning my catchers (hell yeah I'm happy about having them) I'm gonna do what I'm gonna do, I will say this, I will not be ripped off.I will gladly start Piazza at Inf. Flex before I lose on a deal involving him and that means a solid pos. player and a starting pitcher. As for my team being loaded with question marks I'd say no more so than any others. My starting pitchers are solid one through four(don't hate on Williamson either,he will win 15 and be the ace of that staff).Outfield all five outfielders are very good and if Wilson can cut down on his strikeouts and Drew breaks out it could be a great outfield. The corner infield is solid with Casey and Tatis with Palmer there to back either of them up should something happen.Renteria is top ten shortstop.Knoblauch's only concern is in the field and I think he will conquer it.Question marks I've got a few but no more than anyone else and I should contend.Any questions? ------------------ I'm worse at what I do best And for this gift I feel blessed
Yeah, when are you gonna draft? It's your turn. ------------------ Behad Sergeant at Arms of the Clutch BBS
