That was pretty cool. I'm not the biggest punk fans, but I always respected The Sex Pistols, The Ramones, and Bad Brains. Where did punk go horribly horribly wrong? The Maxx, holy crap, I used to watch this on MTV too. I would not have remembered this if I hadn't seen this thread.
The Ramones were the only punk band that could play their instruments and, they could actually sing too. The rest of them were just garage bands.

A lot were garage bands becuase major lables wouldn't touch them, or completely clueless to know what to even think of them. HR of Bad Brains had one of the best hard rock voices ever, and Dr. Know rips. The Talking Heads greatness is self explanatory. The Clash were great. Same for The Minutemen. Big Boys kicked ass too. and Devo rules. and so on and so on...I dont know what you are talking about.
