If PHX can play like this, it's a series, but most likely PHX comes back down to Earth.

Or maybe the Mavs defense came back down to earth after they got tired after putting an all-out effort in game 3.

The Mavs will win the next two out of three, maybe two straight. They had a very subpar night, they will bounce back in a big way. This is probably the Sun's last hurrah. Dirk won't shoot like this again in the series. Mavs and the Heat in the Finals.

I don't understand all the massive Dallas nut-hugging going on. No one team of the 4 remaining has really separated themselves from the pack this year, and they all have some flaws. It's really anybody's trophy at this point, w/the exception of Detroit, possibly.

And Barbosa won't be lights out either. He'll probably disappear again the next 2 games. On the other hand, if Josh Howard can't play the Mavs are in big trouble. And Dirk better bounce back with a huge game on Thursday. The supposedly "deep" Mavs rely on him more than the Heat rely on Wade.

I'll say it again: Something is up with the Mavs. I expected them to kick it up into another gear in game 4 and they failed miserably. Maybe they've lost that gear.

NBA to review incident with Avery Johnson's wife
    By Marc Stein
    ESPN.com

Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and reserve center DJ Mbenga, who was inactive and in street clothes for Game 4, entered the stands late in the first quarter after Cassandra Johnson, wife of Mavs coach Avery Johnson, got into a dispute with two Suns fans.

Cuban and Mbenga were joined by team security coordinator Jim Colleran in a section overlooking the Mavs' bench to check on Cassandra Johnson. A misdemeanor assault complaint was reportedly later filed by the fans against Johnson for allegedly shoving and swearing at them.

It was not immediately known if Cuban or Mbenga are facing sanction from the league for going into the stands. NBA spokesman Brian McIntyre said the incident would be reviewed by the league office Wednesday.

Then-New York center Antonio Davis was suspended for five games in January for entering the stands during a game at Chicago to confront a fan he thought was harassing his wife. But Davis, in that scenario, was an active participant in the game who was penalized for what NBA vice president of basketball operations Stu Jackson described as "breaking the barrier from the court into the stands."

It was not immediately clear whether the actions of an owner and/or an inactive player would be interpreted similarly.

Cuban tried to downplay the incident at halftime, calling it "a non-event."

Marc Stein is the senior NBA writer for ESPN.com.

I think it is all Mia-Det winner. If Det doesn't come back to beat them (possible but doubtfull), the Mavs-Suns winner absolutely won't.

Maybe she wasn't been hospitable in someone else home. Maybe she even threw the first punch, slap, cup of ice, etc. Who knows, but it isn't like players' wives can't be jerks. When you go to someone else's arena IMO more people should chill.

I don't think I've seen a more extreme team than the Suns.

Awesome offense...pure crap (no) defense. End the charade of getting back.

Yeah. Think about it this way. In Dallas' wins against Suns, Diop has been huge in turns of offensive rebounding and such. Well, he won't enjoy the advantage against east teams. Now, will Dirk or Terry or Stack become more dominant against Heat/Pistons than they are against the Suns? Not likely.

Looks like Josh Howard is the "missing link" to the Mavs defense (although their defense wasn't all that great the last game with him).

If they're going to win this game (and ultimately the series), its gonna have to be a shootout... game 3 is definitely looking more and more like the "abberation" than the norm.

Yes... definitely a Matt Maloney-ish playoff performance (wide open 3 after wide open 3!).

Written off for dead to starting for the Suns and playing big time ball in the WCF -- can't knock that at all.
